Wednesday walk ~ Waiting in our boats to set sail
Lets start here.
I know we're much too busy for listening to music here right? But if you actually clicked on this post the song will set the tone perfectly for what i was trying to convey in the photos... maybe.
It was a clear and quiet afternoon with only a few people around. I was struck by the intensity of all the sailboats and power boats. Waiting. Hundreds of miles of rope and cable and canvas. Engines electronics metallurgy wood fiberglass endless curves and straight lines. The marina is like a launching pad. You could leave here and head due south and not see land for 8538 miles - 13,740 km until you run head on into Antarctica.

Thank you! I almost took a sunset photo there by accident. It will sound weird but i swore i wouldn't take sunsets because of the 10 million people doing them on every social media i'm on. A stupid rebellion on my part.
Not having a wide angle lens - my widest i can go is 105mm - makes it hard to get a sunset anyway unless i'm going for a close up. So i'm going with the telephoto and shots not many people are doing. Cramming as much detail and distance and space in to a flat plane.
You certainly accomplished your goal. Sometimes the limits of our gear can actually be freeing, resulting in a unique perspective that others miss. Nice work. Keep it up!

Limitations are pretty cool in that way. I've been working with the compression of the telephoto. seeing how much i cram into the frame and the abstract quality of that. The boats are unique in that they have so much open space in the rigging and masts. Sort of like how much rope, wire and masts can i get in a shot
