They only exist in the Northern Sonora Desert. That would be SE California, Southern Arizona, USA and Baja Nortre and Baja Sur, Rio Colorado and Sonora in Mexico. Maybe 10,000 in all. My friend Erv has Yuma Elephant Tree Project. He and others like him are studying them pretty carefully. He's got two of his college students out scouting them out, too.
