Wednesday Walk - In No Particular Direction !!

in #wednesdaywalk5 years ago

Hi everyone here we are for another beautiful #wednesdaywalk hosted by @tattoodjay and i must say he picked the prefect day for this tag cause normally this is the day i don't need to go to the office so i can always go for my mid week walk which i thoroughly enjoy it just break the week up perfectly but the hardest part always is deciding in which direction i should head of into.

Looking into the sky from my balcony i thought lately it's been quite hazy and polluted the last couple of weeks or we don't know where it has come from but people around the city of Bangkok city have become quite concerned about it and many people are wearing those face masks. So i decided to head towards some clean nature and stay of the Bangkok streets that are always traffic jams with pollution.

I remember this back way to this park i like walking through were i didn't have to walk through congested streets was quite a pleasure walk going the back way through this old tobacco factory that has now closed down and move some where else so all i saw was a old truck and a couple funky buses the drivers normally park there so they can have a snooze.

Walking down this quite street i notice this beautiful tall tree that was shedding it's bark like a snake would sheds it's skin and a gang of dogs coming to either greet me or have a piece of me luckily i always carry my treats with me when i go for a walk it does help...lol :)

Then i remembered there was a park in the direction i had decided to go so into the park i go straight away hit by the beautiful fresh air of mother nature and some beautiful flowers to greet me it just made it more prefect.

Walking along further into this park call Benjakiti Park which is located in the heart of Bangkok city but you would you are in a rain-forest it has a man made built lake in the center of this huge park just stunning.

Moving further around to the other side of the beautiful park i come across this beautiful Chinese coiling dragon it had been given as a gift from the Chinese people to the Thailand people have a look at the work that has gone into sculpturing this dragon.

The park itself is used as one big training field by all the Thai people and foreigners living here it has a bicycle track , running and walking track and the views around the lake are just breathtaking.

Thank you for the lovely walk! I felt as if I had walked along.... Very calm and relaxing place - lovely trees and flowers too!

That is too bad about the pollution in the area! The warm, humid weather keeps it stagnated in one place a little longer than if you had cool air there. Keep that mask on. You don't need to be breathing that nasty stuff in!

The park is spectacular! I love how the flowers are so prolific and bountiful! Everywhere you look! You have taken this walk to another level by using these flowers in it!

You know I am so jealous!

Today's News in Bangkok : Bangkok smog: 50 drones to be launched spraying molasses to relieve smog.

You are right we could do with some rain and wind to blow it all away.

Thank you my friend this is one spectacular park and so well taken care of and actually it's next to the Conventional Center where i will be going in mid February they will be having a travel fair happening should be interesting.

Thank you for your generous tip and yes their is always got to be flowers when your in a park :)

Yes!!! It was a lovely park! Molasses? You are kidding. Right??

No kidding this is what the headline on the news was this morning Molasses i don't even know what this really going to do i think they have it wrong ??

Is this what Molasses is ??

I've been to this park and you sure bring me memories. It was last year at this time we had the start of 6 weeks of yucky air up there. All my photos are orange from that time.

Happy to bring back some nice memories to you. Yeah i haven't seen it this bad in Bangkok before it's like been in China...lol :)

I'm not too far south, but the air in KL is good so far. I hear we get smoke sometimes from somewhere, but I have been happy breathing here :)

Your lucky i hope it clears away from here soon we need some wind and rain :)

I said that every day for six weeks last year! I will dig out the photos and get a post up soon. The photos were really cool and surreal. I am glad I caught it, but glad to miss it a second time.

Well you got to see my post am happy you liked it so you don't have to put up a post now save it for another time :)

Great idea to go for some fresh air and get away from the smog
That park looks huge and has a bit of everything a bit like Central Park here on NYC

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk !tip

Yes lately Bangkok City hasn't been looking the same for the past couple weeks or so all the pollution and smog has blown in from China i think and the parks are the best options to hang around for now.

Thanks for your generous Tip my friend :)

I remember the times i visited there I was lucky and only saw one smoggy day, but with or without the fog I would prefer the park over the busy streets :)

Unfortunately them blue skies are not seen as often as we should , the climate changes are effecting the world in every continent :(

Ohh yes for sure and good to see someone else who says Climate Change to often people talk about Global Warming and with the cold spells of winter people fool themselves into thinking it snot real, we need ot make changes now and protect our planet

It is very true and it is out there happening and governments talk about it but honestly i think it's to late to fix the earth will either burn up or freeze up but i don't think you and myself will be around to see that maybe good for us but not for our young ones :(

Yes indeed. I do worry about what we are leaving behind for our grandkids I must admit

Sad but the governments are all as useless as a piece of sh*t just thinking of their own pockets :)

Great post! Very interesting walk through a beautiful city. Sorry to hear about your air quality problem. We had the worst air quality anywhere on earth last summer due to all the forest fires... it was horrible. Loved your photos! That dragon statue is very cool, and gorgeous flowers.

Thank you @keithboone this is one spectacular park very well maintained and has a bit of everything to see and do one of my favorite parks in Bangkok :)

I do think the whole of the world is having problems with pollution and the governments are only interested in filling up there pockets and not addressing the real problems unfortunately.

Truly amazing images @hangin You are very generous with the wonderful variety of photos you share with us in your blogs. Thailand has very similar plants and trees to Queensland and they obviously thrive in tropical conditions.

Those dogs must look out for you, knowing you always come prepared with treats in your pockets. I hope the smog lets up so that you won't have to wear masks. Enjoy the rest of your week my friend.

Thank you my friend for your lovely words it is always a hard decision which photos to leave out of a post so i always end up putting most of them in pictures always express the story better. That is nice to know that you are familiar with these plants.

Oh yeah i think all the stray dogs and cats in Bangkok know they are going to get a treat from me :)

Today's News in Thailand - Bangkok smog: 50 drones to be launched spraying molasses to relieve smog !!

Spraying molasses to relieve fog????? I've never heard of such a thing. I'm picturing the place getting smothered by all that sticky black stuff that I eat every day to give me my iron fix. 😁 The things you learn on steemit!!!!

Yeah when i saw that on the head line news i thought are they for real i think it was meant to be a early April fools joke...lol :)

I'd be very interested to read more about this intriguing fog remedy @hangin and until I am convinced otherwise I will STILL think it is an early April Fool's joke. 😁

A wonderful lively and beautiful walk :-)

Thank you @manorvillemike it was certainly a amazing park to be walking through :)
