That is really cool and an awesome way for them to re-purpose something that has become outdated. I am not sure where superman is going to change into his suit now though. :) That is interesting that your work allowed you to use the public WiFi. I would have guessed that might be a no no.
Yes it could be a big challenge for Superman, but then again the old phone booths were not ideal for him Either, the English style Phone Boxes were few and far between here LOL
I think it is a cool Initiative,and my PHone connects to them when I am walking around the city.
As for a no no to connect tot hem at work, that is true, and funnily enough part of my Role is Security related and recommending not to do that, but I never connected with my Work Laptop to them, Just my Personal phone and iPad :)
Ah, that makes sense. I was out in Vegas for a bachelor party one year and it happened to be the same time that Defcon was going on. I had to make sure to let everyone know not to connect to any wireless with their devices the whole time we were there. There was one instance where the elevator system of one of the casino hotels got hacked. Crazy stuff!
Back when I had a work phone i never connectedit to wireless anywhere and especially not in Vegas, one of the Data Security Conferences I went to was on at the same times as a Hackers Conference of some type so I was extra cautious then LOL
I normally only connect my iPad to the work Network as I do work on it from time to time, but when we were in one of the buildings they had issues for about a week so I made use of the Lync System, but they have two levels an open WiFi, and you can sign up ( still free ) and get onto a secure network which I did.
MY Personal Phone I use the secure Lync System from time to time, but I keep all my work and confidential personal data off my phone and do all that on a PC or on the IPad on a secure network, I know I should probably be more cautious with my Phone but i really use it mainly just for social networks, weather and calls, no banking or anything like that
That makes sense, I can understand wanting to keep your personal stuff off the work network and your work stuff off the public network.
Its Just the way I am, always have tried to keep the two separate :)
