A mandatory walk every day but Wednesday seems more beautiful. Why? Because I have to tell about it.
We have seen remarkable posts in this challenge, buildings, monuments, streets, parks and famous cities.
I'm thinking of going back to the origins of this challenge when @tattoodjay urges us to walk and share places and impressions. Nothing spectacular, just what I saw around.
A route I do every day. Now I have to say that it has two special aspects: a beautiful winter and a somewhat new location. A city that is not my home, a city where I live only a few weeks a year.
Almost all of these challenges that many of us take part in are just a pretext to tell a story and as many images as possible to support the story. To show our consideration for the proposer of the challenge and for the participants.
Walking through Iasi, Romania during the winter. A few streets!
A walk no more than half a kilometer. It begins next to a church, a former monastery that was mutilated during the communist era when it was partly demolished and building blocks of flats built. Only the tower and the small church remained from the old monastic settlement. They were built in the 1500s.
Although this place is very close to the city center, there are many areas that are devoid of construction and I have to admit I like that.
Big snow! The sidewalks are not cleaned and we have to go on narrow paths. So we intersected with a nice and friendly cat.
I like the place where I live now. It is like a small island in the middle of the city, with small and narrow old mansions, some old houses even abandoned and the snow white.
I like abandoned homes. It is here a house that once was very beautiful. It also has a large garden that is invaded by the green in the summer. Now that the trees have no leaves, I can see the house better.
Next to this house I see a neat and very inhabited. Lived by some patriots if we see the yard flags.
I'm already very close to the house, a few tens of meters. Suddenly the block appears, the end of the walk.
And so it ended a beautiful walk. No surprises and news because they make this route at least twice a day. Arriving home, I enjoy again the beautiful view on a piece of city that lies in front of me.
A wonderful #WednesdayWalk! The snow really makes everything so beautiful!! Doesn't it? Although, snow is pretty until it is not. When it becomes dirty, I want to scrub it clean! :)
I am always saddened when the take a church and renovate it into apartments, however, it is better than tearing it down. Repurposing is much preferred.

With working with offices all over the world, I have to try and focus on it and not call people in the middle of the night, but it never bothers me if people forget and do that to me LOL
Luckily in my new role its not so operationally urgent so I don;t get to may calls these days mostly messages but just a year or two ago I could get calls at any hour of the day
What a beautiful city it must sparkle in the summer , that snow always looks great when it is fresh and white but it must get tiring and dirty after a while and you love it all to go away and bring spring in :)
Thank you! Yes, that was the surprise. A winter closer to what it means ... winter. Like in childhood, fifty years ago. Maybe it will come to you ... if you want, of course.
Yes, we might get some snow still this season. Where I live now it not typical to get much snow though.
I remember in my childhood I lived in a much more snowy area and a lake in the park froze over every winter. People would go out and ice skate on it and even drove their cars on it to shovel away snow to make a better skating area. It never freezes like that in the winter any more.

That's how it is. I do not even try to think about the time zone or the others. It's good when we meet!

At least they left the church! It is beautiful. What a lovely city that seems to be. I love seeing the things that you see on your walk.

Nice pictures and story about the city. This area looks very snowy. It hasn't snowed much this season yet where I'm at and has been a bit sunny.

Climate change is evident everywhere. We can only wait to see how it will manifest itself. Meanwhile, we remember childhood ...
