Yeah, I get WHY President Trump rolled out all the military hardware for America's Independence Day, and don’t deny there was some political points to be scored in doing it (both among his base and the defense industry). But it’s still a transparent political ploy to associate himself with one of the only elements of government that has anything close to a good public reputation (i.e. the military). Also, that sort of thing starts getting a little too close to those old Soviet Union military parades I remember seeing on the news as a kid, or the occasional ceremonies we see coming from North Korea in recent decades.
Seriously, Mr. President… this country is better than that. Confidence in a nation's abilities doesn’t require that level of showing off.
