Colors from last week

My daily endeavours with watercolors continued last week and below are the results, along with reports of few fascinating events that i got to attend.

I cover briefly on the paintings first, I did my adjustments to the routine of doing the meditation before painting and can't say that it harmed anything atleast.
Perhaps it is easier to sit with the painting, maybe less anxiety. I was worried about losing some of the "charge", but probably 20 minutes of sitting beforehand won't rid all of the turbulence that makes the brush move. I did work on some of them later at the day, or next and some i felt comfortable to leave to less worked state. - continue or not.

Now there wasn't a lot of draw towards figurative this time, but other times i am thinking about it and had some interesting echoes to that over the weekend. In celebration of the Finnish Painter's Union's 90th birthday, we organized a "picture karaoke" with the Lahti artist's association this weekend. We had two of our members showing their work: Marja Liisa-Jokitalo(chairman of the Finnish Painters' Union) and Niklas Ingelius a younger painter currently doing his masters at the Academy of Fine Arts. Look them up. They both had great presentations and there just is something to hearing how similar thoughts and problems rise when it comes to painting but also the different views, subjects and approaches . These are just great events to have.

Another event on sunday was the pagan autumn fair which was pretty awesome as well. It was a lot of people all of a sudden to a hermit like my self, but i did enjoy a lot of it. The event took place at an old beer/wine vault which was nicely decorated by the organizers with branches and skulls. There various stalls were filled with fascinating items from occult books to strange ointments and jewelry. I caught some captivating performances from Noora Korppi and Tero kalliomäki and interesting lectures on Finnish folklore. There was a sacrificial tree where left a little present and picked up something for myself, a green stone (malachite, i think). That was a quite satisfying experience, i can't quite explain or perhaps don't want to. The fair would have continued late into the evening but i wasn't in the budget -money or energy wise to stay up but i did have a good time. I didn't take a lot of pictures and ones i did didn't come too great but here are some. And the rest of the watercolors.
