#3 Walk with me // Quogue Wldlife Refuse
Introduction post to Quogue Wildlife Refuse .... https://steemit.com/nature/@manorvillemike/intro-to-quogue-wildlife-refuse
Leaving the pond viewing Center, I started my walk across the wide part of "Old Ice pond."
The pond was created with an earth dam across Quantuck Creek. It is dotted with a few scenic little islands.

After walking across the Earthen dam I came upon 3 Mallard ducks at waters edge. Was able to get real close.
Heading up the East side of the pond you walk through a pine and oak woodland. The trail is covered by the pine needles from the dominate "Pitch Pine." This area is part of the Central Pine Barrens of Long Island. Most of the green trees in the photos are the Pitch Pine, some maybe White Pine.
Came across this little viewing platform, with a good view of some passing Geese.
Talk about having your ducks in a row. In this case Geese.
Bunch of Geese behind the islands.
Well back on the trail. Will pick up in a future post.
