I Kind Of Like Fear The Walking Dead Better Than The Walking Dead
(Mild Spoilers If You Aren't Caught Up) I have been a big Walking Dead fan since about 2015 when I binge watched like 4 seasons at once. Then after that I always tried to keep up with the story. When Fear The Walking Dead started I followed that one as well and I liked the different perspective starting out in Los Angeles and then seeing the group end up in Mexico.
Now we are in Season 4 of Fear The Walking Dead and I honestly really like where they are going with it. For starters they merged the worlds by having Morgan from the original series enter the picture.
Secondly the way they are telling the story this season is super interesting. You see clips from the past and you see stuff from the present and it leaves all kinds of unanswered questions. The present is shown with a dark filter on it and the past is being shown with a brighter picture. I like that effect and it is somewhat how they did in the movies Memento and American History X. They distinguished between past and present and then everything made more sense at the end.
Also this season I really like some of the sets. Especially the Triple A baseball stadium the group is staying in on the scenes from the recent past.
I think another reason why I was getting slightly worn out with the original series is because for the longest time I felt like Negan kept dodging bullets or getting out of deadly situations and also they were mainly around the same areas. The finally was pretty interesting in some respects but I found the most interesting thing being the lead in to Morgan leaving and intersecting with the members of Fear The Walking Dead.
Conclusion
I have had a lot of people who are Walking Dead fans if Fear The Walking Dead is any good and if they should watch it. I like the fact that there is a different set of characters and different sets. Ultimately I would say I like the two series equally as well previous to this season of Fear The Walking Dead.
The way they are telling the story this season is exceptionally interesting.
Any walking dead fans out there? What do you guys think about the two series?

I´ve been a fan of the show for a while but Negan also irritated me just as he did to you. Yes, when he came in the series it was amazing. The way he acted turned The Walking Dead into some kind of SAW series, which was cool. But it never got as fun and exciting as the first episodes. Once they stopped being afraid of zombies (which i can understand after a long while of surviving), it wasn't really The Walking Dead anymore.
I really liked the Negan character before he showed up. Remember when Darrel blew up those bikers with that RPG? Sort of the mystic around Negan was cool I felt like.
It has certainly been an interesting series for sure.
I loved the Walking Dead and watched it on Netflix. About 2 seasons I binged watched. But for some reason I just lost interest. Don't know if it was because the show was about one thing and that was it ?? I mean there was sub plots within the main plot. But I just lost the 'buzz' I had for it at the beginning
I get what you are saying. I was real into Breaking Bad but I forcefully weaned myself off that one because I knew I would binge out like a savage and watch it until the end.
I am a fan of both. I have lost some interest in Walking dead over the last couple of seasons because it seems they drag out the situations they find the group in. FTWD was a breath of fresh air for me. New characters, new situations and now cross overs, which I always thought would be interesting. I can't wait to see where it goes.
Same here, and that SWAT truck the one chick has is badass so it will be interesting.
@o07 says the same. He prefers the spin off.
That is cool they are watching it in Australia as well.
Thanks @brianphobos, loved your post. Keep up the good work.
