Steemit VR
Is anyone working on Steemit VR?
Now I have been using VR since Google Cardboard came out..
And the app for it was a cool idea when it was first released!
How could this be implemented on Steemit?
From the gif above you can see basically what this could look like with Steemit..
- Blog
- Replies
- Notifications
- Our followers feed
- And obviously our wallet
These could be immersive experiences!
The future of VR/AR on Steemit!
So obviously with the way the site is.. Something like a Carboard app but for Steemit would work now, but what about the future?
Imagine being able to watch VR or AR content on Steemit!
Not only could this content be shared from like Youtube, but it could also be used in the future for content being created on the blockchain!
- VR Games
- VR Videos
- VR & AR Tutorials
And these are only just a few possible applications..
So let me know what you think, and let's see whats REALLY possible here on Steemit!
To make Steemit useable in a VR environment you need to make it more interactive in some ways, you can't just 2D photos and videos and read text as this is not fun with a VR headset. The lack of depth (stereoscopic 3D effect) in the multimedia content and boring text would need some creative ideas to overcome and make something actually useful and not just some stupid useless app, because VR is cool. Though it is still good that you are thinking about it, just need to think about some more and find some good ideas... :)
I agree and I was thinking of like the future Steemit when as a global virtual world..
But I could see how even blogging could still be included @cryptos

I really like the idea. It has some really difficult challenges to overcome though as cryptos points out. But also most of the content wouldnt be suitable for hosting on the steem blockchain. I wonder if storj would be able to host the content and then you would place any relevant transactions on the steem blockchain. Im not sure blogging would be the best media for VR. But like you said, other types could be really cool, and interacting with other users and content might be more interesting.

I like how you added Stereoscopic 3D to show us cross eyed lunatics how this would actually look.
For those that don't know how to use Stereoscopic 3D and are seeing this in 2D, think Sailboat.

Very cool idea. I'm not sure about
though. There's have to be a way to embed the content in there and until YouTube has something more than just it's 360 videos, I'm not sure how that will work. I'd love to see more sites thinking in terms of VR interfaces though.
