Road to 100000 Steem Power Day 156 - Witness Friends & The Hardcore Alarm Clock
This is my journey towards 100000 Steem Power Day 156 with no prior investments! (Meaning I started on Steem with 0 account value!). I am a very dedicated individual and I want you guys to be a part of my journey to get you motivated and to learn from my mistakes!
Besides my daily description of what I did to reach that goal today, I will also use this as a "journal" to keep track of my other personal goals.

What I did Today to Reach my Goal
Today I wrote a post about Zappl and why it is the perfect platform to use if you are on a vacation or if you are a fan of Twitter. You can read the full post HERE or watch the video only version below.

Diary
Woke up at 09:00 and realized the modafinil coffee trick is not really working if I don't want to do it. So I recorded myself doing a motivational speech which will wake me up in the morning.
I will basically wake myself up in the morning. I have added a playlist with black metal songs which are played randomly. I also have to solve 2 math puzzles to deactivate the alarm.
The motivational speech and black metal are not supposed to wake me up, I will be awake, they are supposed to motivate me to get out of bed.
Besides that, I got help from 2 Steemit witnesses that helped me to fix my problem so that I can continue working on setting my servers up.
Thank you @quochuy (I rewarded him with 10 SBD + my witness vote for his help). Also, thank you to @jatinhota for offering me his help! I already feel welcomed by the witness community.
Yesterday @properfraction told me to learn setting up the servers myself so that I can repair them in case something goes wrong and I agree with that, which is why I will set the servers up myself.
Now I just have to add the current episode to SteemSchool.net and then I can continue installing safety measures on my witness servers.

First off, congrats on getting your witness servers set up, glad you found someone ;-)
Zappl seems really promising, if you look at how much they've improved in such a short amount of time. Still think Steemit is a bit better though for regular posting.
Do you think that users might get flagged in the future for posting short posts with Zappl? Especially when they are getting big rewards for it.

Yes, that could indeed happen.
It is like you said, Steemit is better for regular posting.
I would only use Zappl if I had no access to a computer or laptop, aka on a vacation.
Yeah, I don't think I would use it much myself because of the 240 character limit. Trying to write posts with at least 300 words minimum. Still working on getting posts out daily :P Thanks for the nice comment back.

Is it worth it to be a witness? I ask because I've mined before and some people have compared being a witness to being a miner.
Depends on how much votes you can gather, I have the support of a couple of people with plenty of Steem Power. Besides that running the servers ain't that expensive at the start.
So yeah, it is worth it if you can get enough votes and learn fast.

I also agree with @properfraction about setting up server. As a website developer I know that i could go for a 100 hunderd movies about some topic but when I try it do it by myself I am learning the fastest and most efficient.
Same experience here, you learn faster through practice.

Thank you, I will be installing Zappl on my phone. I occasional use my phone's camera to take photos of things I come across while I'm out and about. The other day I snapped a few shots of a deer. I could have instantly sent those out with Zappl. I also recently discovered that Photoshop has an app for smartphones. So, I can do some quick cleanup of the image and get it out!

This came at a perfect time as I will be traveling and unsure of having internet access all the time. I got zappl installed on my phone so now I am good to go.

The witness servers will be completely set up in around 7-10 days or earlier.
Good luck with this, Valor. I'm no techie, have no clue about the ins and outs of server set-up and only 33rd day on Steemit, but I know that Witnesses are important.

LOL Not sure but I'll cheer you on. Math and I only get along when we have to, so I know you'll have better luck with that than me.
