I guess what you were suggesting is similar to how Minds.com with it's boosting system. You can purchase organic reach for your channel by buying a boost, value = reach. Internal promotion - which are like ads, but not corporate or from third party brands/products. I think that's ok. I'm down for organic reach that you can purchase with Steem. But I'm against the idea to any other ads, or invideo ads, a minimalistic experience in a platform is what I crave, and adblockers are a godsend. Maybe facilitating transactions when sponsoring other products/areas.. that would be awesome.. so the middle man between those who need the ad and those who sponsor it is removed. Direct ads from a client can happen with bids - and popular channels can then share that ad, but as sponsorship in videos - similar to what Youtube already allows. But.. no header ads, not in site ads, but more... a system like gramblr, bidding ads and opt in publication/sponsorship and purchaseable boosts.
