RE: Introducing DTube: a decentralized video platform using STEEM and IPFS
This is very cool. As you continue working on this to improve it, might I suggests maybe changing the color and vary the icons to be slightly different than YouTube's. Only enough to avoid any copyright infringement while at the same time sticking it to YouTube that their practice of censorship killed them. Maybe use gold instead of red and make the bottom of the icon the same as a PacMan ghost. You could probably get away with just changing the color to silver too. I dont know how the trademark laws would work in this case because it is on blockchain but I could see them (Google/YouTube) trying to shut this down some how. There will be a mass migration to DTube over time if YouTube keeps banning people. I wish there was some way to get credit for bringin people over to DTube like an affiliate link or something. Wait does Steemit have this already? I am very new still.
Also, from what based on what I read the video would only seed for 57 months for free then a user has to pay to continue seeding it longer or set up a way to seed it themselves correct? Could a separate computer, like a desktop that was on all of the time, be set up by the user to maintain this?
