The Secret Sauce to the DTube Upvote - DNews Finally Shares the Master Key!
So after several people have badgered me with this question, I have finally come out to share the secret of the ultimate DTube upvote. Here it is. Are you ready? Hold onto your horses. Ready? Fasten your seatbelts...there is no secret. I don't know. You don't know. The guy next door doesn't know. Nobody knows. And let's not focus on that. Let's focus on what's in our control - our content.
While I don't know the secret to DTube's upvote, I can share with you my thought-process when I am creating my videos. My videos have come a long way from my first screen record videos and my webcam. I've purchased new cameras, new lights, new lenses, new tripods, new stands, new software to be able to upgrade my video quality. I've gone from no editing to slight editing to a lot of editing. My videos have continued to evolve and through it all, I've tried to think of 3 main things. Here they are.
- Quality (photo/video/audio)
- Entertainment/Educational/Informational Value
- Relevance

I'm not going to lie once I started getting dtube upvotes, I thought about the why and tried to figure it out. But then I realized, just keep making content and the rest will follow. So that is my best advice to new steemians. If you stay consistent you will land that vote. I do give away dtube swag when I get some heavy votes as a way to give back to the community. lol yeah I did some rebranding today, I do that from time to time. I might change the avatar a bit but its been my focus here on Steemit for many months now. Thanks about the hat, the quality is great.

Since every upvote is hand selected, no algorithm, it must be something catching the attention of whom ever is in charge! A reiteration of criteria would be nice on dtubes behalf, yet not knowing makes the entire process in their control and cannot be manipulated for any reason. Leaves us with artistic freedoms and you may find your own angle on getting that vote. It is a goal of mine to be on the receiving end, yet I am still learning the process of production and enjoy every minute of it.
If they do decide to upvotes someone’s first post because it was outstanding so be it, know that by posting your own content on this platform part of what you earn goes back into that fund pool for further promoting this makes me feel as if the dtube upvote is also my own.
Do you think announcing your investment would make a difference? You have made many steps in this area like you said, purchase of equipment for furthering the quality of your content. Since they seem to watch more then just your post but a direction your taking the channel, having a focus or message could make all of the difference. Each of your channels has a specific message but not everything is upvotes, why? Well I see that click bait titles are avoided, along with things that may seem misleading, comedy is somewhat over looked, general news doesn’t get much promotion either, in conclusion it’s the posts that add value to the platform receiving votes not necessarily all high quality post but the ones with the right message.
Sorry just got to this now bro. I've been meaning to. Yeah I'm 100% transparent in all my investments in order to improve my videos. They're all documented in @phototutorials
That's right. Just enjoy every minute of the process. That's what it's about. Ultimately we want to be happy. So why not enjoy the journey along the way. The learning is the exciting part :)

Well said @dnews. I think the most important point here is to really detach from the results. As long as you're putting out quality, entertaining, and/or educative content that's bringing value to the platform then that value will come back to you eventually!

I was fortunate enough to have landed a dtube upvote once. It was rad, to say the least.
I just continue chugging along, uploading whatever I upload with what I think is the best possible job with the equipment and software I have, and let life do the rest.
I know @dtube will come around again eventually. No rush.
