This is a wonderfully written tutorial full of important information that I have not seen covered so extensively before. You have done some amazing work here! I also love the detailed photos...I am a true believer in detailed photos. I have to admit that I did not know that the technical term for the drained liquid was called leachate...I have only ever heard it referred to as "worm tea" or "compost tea", so thank you for that! I am looking forward to seeing your future tutorials.

I am a curator for a Steemit community called Helpie. I would love to feature this post in our upcoming Helpie homesteading curation weekly article coming out on Monday. If you agree please let me know here, or feel free to contact me on discord @L & L Farms#8837 with any questions.

Yet another useful community! That’s great.
I’d be delighted to be featured in your next issue, thanks.

Perfect! Thank you.

Nice post. I will have to try this out!

Let me know if you have any questions

Very comprehensive worm compost bin tutorial! Do you capture the worm tea for the garden?

Hi Doc,
I don’t collect the leachate as I try to minimize its production with a lot of dry absorbing material. For the garden I use either the finished compost or I take that compost and make aerated compost tea (another post) which in a nutshell is putting compost and some bacteria and fungi food in dechlorinated water and aerate the mix for 24-48 hours to multiply the microorganisms

Can't wait until you tell us how to build a BSFL bin! I want to build one myself!

I have an ebook for that:
http://little.wf/bsfguide

I might make a simpler one on Steemit.

And if you browse through my website and YouTube channel you should see some photos and videos. I have made several.

I have been looking into vermicomposting the last few days and it just so happens that I come across your post! Very awesome.

Nice. The more people get into vermicomposting the better for the environments

There will be more posts to come and check my other posts too.

awesome post! what is the temperature of your compost? is this considered a cold or warm compost?

This is a cold compost, a hot compost would kill the worms. The temperature of the compost at my place will vary between 5C and 30C I think l, depending on the season.
