Christchurch Tram, New Zealand

This is our entry to the vehicle photography contest hosted by @juliank.

In the city centre of Christchurch, there is a small network of rail lines that allow sightseers to trundle around in beautifully restored heritage trams. Tours are narrated by the well-informed drivers.
There is even an evening Restaurant tram that offers a four-course meal.

This photo was taken with a Pentax 35mm P3N by the Capt'n in 2007, the first time he lived in the city.
Since the 2011 earthquake that damaged much of the city the tram routes have been carefully rebuilt and now once again carry hundreds of thousands of tourists anually between the many museums and points of interest that Christchurch has to offer.

Sorry to hear the quake took out such an awesome project yet at least they were able to rebuild. That’s one thing I miss about being in a big city.

Our smaller town has a similar tram that goes through describing the sites but definitely doesn’t have dinner served.

Keep the #photography posts coming.
