Lentil Patties 🌶️
Sunny Wednesday Steemians! 😎
Since it's Wednesday, I wanted to take part in the #veganwednesday by @heart-to-heart, and share one of my favorite recipes. If you need packed lunch for traveling, and don't like to eat cold rice and beans, these are a perfect option. From here you can find more about the competition, I highly recommend you to check it out!
Without further ado, let's get started with the recipe!
Lentil Patties • 7 round ones
INGREDIENTS:
2 dl (~0.85 cups) dry red lentils
1 large onion
0.5 dl (~0.2 cups) rolled oats
1 tbsp srirahca
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp dried chili flakes
1 tsp salt
INSTRUCTIONS:
Rinse the lentils, and cook them according to the package instructions. Finely chop the onion, and cook it on a frying pan with a little bit of oil or water, until the pieces become translucent. Once the lentils are cooked, drain them well (if the lentils are too moist, you'll end up with mushy patties!) Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, taste, and add seasonings if desired. Shape the patties, using a spoon or your hands, onto a baking tray, and bake at 200°C (~ 390°F) for 20-25 minutes. Let the patties cool down a bit, and serve e.g. with toasted bread. Personally, I love these with toasted rye bread and ketchup!
Enjoy! 😋

Lentil patties are the best! I make quite a lot and freeze it. Then I can enjoy it anytime when we feel like having a burger :) I like your recipe. Thank you Jasmin!
Thank you! I've never thought about freezing lentil patties, but I'll have to do that in the future! 😊
It's great to have some patties in freezer. You can have a 'burger' anytime :)
There's nothing better than a veggie burger yummy
I know! Especially now that it's summer, there's no better dinner than a veggie burger(s) :)
