It just so happens that I just finished editing an audio recording of a confrontation in which a drunk homeless man made threats against a Starbucks employee last night. It's a good illustration of what each and every one of us need to have the courage to do. Evil runs freely largely because those who consider themselves to be good really are just cowards. Really being alive, really caring, really being unselfish requires courage and selflessness.
Wow looking forward to take a look at that.
You are so right and everybody think that it's none of their business. Growing up in a small community where everyone look after each other I know that is not true.
We all need to help and stand up for each other and for me it have become even clearer with the #metoo campaign that we really need to step up and show some courage. It's risky and you might take a hit but we need to show it's not ok to act out on your evil impulses.
There is safety in numbers. Standing alone against evil will cost you. We need a few people like that. But mostly we just need people who will "lift a finger" to empower those leaders.
For example, when you see someone jabbering on the phone in a quiet library, say something. It is scary at first, but soon you will learn that you can manage whatever reaction occurs. Find your voice, and you can change your world and perhaps even change THE world. It's not about making the library quiet. It's about teaching morals. When you do something like that, you are not really speaking to the offender. You are speaking to the thirty people who hear you and wish that they had had the courage to do what you did.
Yes you are totally correct and I will start to think about this a little bit more than I have before.
The more we are that speak up the more people will see it and start to shift their minds too =)
