Many devices considered harmless, perhaps looking at small size and low power, can actually reach temperatures that make even vegetable glycerine potentially toxic. On the other hand, MTL devices are highly suitable and really harmless, powered by low power, even better if they are controlled by temperature. Clearly we are talking about a vaporization with a high concentration of nicotine, where the main interest is precisely to take nicotine, and not to have particular aromatic yields.  PREPARATION 

Let's take a closer look at what the process or procedures for obtaining nicotine salts can be. First of all the most commercially used acid that can be useful for nicotine salts is benzoic acid, while for those who produce the salts themselves there are those who also use citric acid, which produces a salt to be taken at temperature below 175 ° C, again to avoid developing toxic substances.  However, benzoic acid is preferable, as studies show that it is much less toxic than the substances that develop from tobacco combustion. In the Benzoic Acid reaction: Nicotine free base, the weight ratio to be used is 3: 4. Every gram of nicotine, in practice, should be reacted with 0.75g of benzoic acid. The citric acid, on the other hand, being weaker, has a different ratio: for every gram of nicotine, 2.37 g of acid must be reacted.  As for the ways to get the reaction, there are several. For example, someone adds the acid powder directly to the e-liquid, mixing until no more solid deposits are formed at the bottom of the container. Others, on the other hand, create a solution - in our opinion a better method than the one previously illustrated. As a solvent, the PG is more suitable than the VG, as it is more capable of dissolving the acid. Alternatively, a PVG mixture can also be used. Since the solution must be heated, it is better than the solvent to contain nicotine, since it would degrade with heat.

EXAMPLE
For practical i use use a solution containing 10g of benzoic acid can be used with the amount of solvent necessary to reach 100ml of solution. The solution is then brought to 60 ° C in a bain-marie for 30/60 minutes, stirring from time to time until the precipitates are no longer formed.
For example, if you want to react the 10g of nicotine in a free base present in 100ml of  solution, you will take 75 ml of soulution benzoic acid that contain 7.5g of acid and you  will mix it eith the nicotine solution  to achieve a uniform distribution of substances. The product obtained will have a concentration of nicotine which, in this case (e-liquid calculator), will be 57.14mg / ml of nicotine salt.

Have you tried many nicotine salt products yet?

just a few on VapeItaly Festival, usually i made the salts by my self

I haven't tried nic salts yet but I am curious. I have plenty of nicotine in the freezer to keep me going for quite a while though!

I use nic salts just for the pod mods
