I bet it did, though we have a name for them cars, cut and shut, two in 1.
That went on a lot back in the day, very unsafe to drive, though a very easy way to sell on something that had been badly damaged in a accident. :-)
Good point it may have been a blessing in disguise when you consider the Costa del Sol's winding seascape overhanging roadway. 🖒
