This Is Sickening! The Fallas Street Lights In Valencia, Spain
The above image of the street lights for Fallas 2018 might look insane, but it still doesn't capture the feeling of actually watching the performance. A spectacle of sound and light is held every evening, several times until midnight.
These lights are set up by Italian companies who are hired every year to come up with amazing new LED arrangements. And they're true pieces of art. Below, you can see the setup of the lights ... these pictures are from three years ago, but the concept is the same.
These setups have always included thousands of light bulbs, but they've also recently started to integrate computer controlled LED elements. It's jaw-dropping, what this technology is capable of, and I can't wait to see what they come up in the years to come. I bet the future will be very bright for the Fallas Street Lights of Russafa.
The video and the gifs are from the streets lights of Cuba-Literato Azorín, which were the most entertaining this year. Traditionally, three commissions compete in the neighborhood of Ruzafa. Cuba-Literato Azorín didn't win this year, since they didn't follow the new noise regulations.
A big thank you to @rebeccaontheroof and @jpphotographyfor coming out after the Steemit Meet-UPto gawk at the lights with us. If you watch the video below, you'll gawk too: this is from the first part of the show. If you'd like to read more about this craziness, check out the Fallas street lights articleon our Valencia Travel Blog.
That's one crazy light show! Beautiful in a weird kind of way. Fallas really seems like a must-have experience.
AND the main days starting now! From today until the 19th (early morning 20th) it will be crazy!!!
This is dope!!! Doesn't even look like real life!! Crazy cool. I'm attracted to bright colors though so I could literally probably stare at these for at least an hour and not get tired of it haha
You're like a little moth then .. :)! One time in your life you have to come and see if for yourself!
Haha you're right, I guess I do relate to months more than I realized lol
I absolutely loved these lights and the mood at this place... Maybe everybody should be once in lifetime visiting Fallas... ✌️
And once you come you'll always come back. Well at least that's the case for @jpphotography !!!

This is incredible! I cant imagine the work that went on to get this exactly right, from the concept to the actual placing of the lights! Thank you for sharing, this is awesome!
I think it takes them 10 - 14 days to put it together!!!!
I love these lights! They are absolutely crazy! :D
You have to come and see if your yourself!
That would be wonderful. I have never seen this before
Wow! That is very colorful, and very interesting! I did not know about that!
The Fallas Festival is a photographers dream - And had many aspects and events and they're all different. Fallas was the main reason we fell in love with the city! So much, we decided to make it our home when we're not traveling.
Wow! It looks sick! ❤️
Awesome Work!
I've verified that your photography is original, and that means it's so good that I had to check.
Your post has just been upvoted and resteemed by @yourluckyphotos - The nonprofit service that rewards and promotes original photographers on Steemit.

I'm already planning my trip for next year, gotta visit this festival! Thanks for sharing! Really makes me get to know a part of Spain I never new :-)
Valencia is lovely and has great beaches and mountains surrounding it. If you're planning to come for Fallas next year start booking your accommodation as soon as you can. Shared dorm room a hostel can easily spike up to 120 Euro per night during the main days (March 15th - 19th).
I believe you! I'll check it out :D
