Animation Tutorial: Lightning "effects" part 5

I'm back again to teach you another animation tutorial and this time, it should be a little bit interesting! I know you have seen this on your favorite cartoon shows.. and you´re probably familiar with it. Good thing about it, is that I'm gonna teach you how to do it! Sounds interesting right?

Alright! Now, again for all newcomers or people who are new to my blog, I´ve been teaching flash animations and sharing my deep knowledge about it here on Steemit. So, I hope you´ll appreciate my post because I'm really trying my very best to teach you and explain this tutorial the best I can. So again, I'm going to give you the list of softwares that you can use to start up.

As I have said from my previous posting, you can use and download any software that I provided, they all have the same usage and features. We are making a 2D animation so those are the best reliable softwares that you can have.
So open your flash and lets start!!

To begin with, create a new file. Well I guess this tutorial will be tough for you if you are new to flash. But, if you are familiar with the tools and how to use it, this will be an easy tutorial for you.

I want you to take a look at this image,

This tutorial has only 6 frames. You probably see right now a nonstop lightning effect which is really cool!!! In reality, it contains only 6 frames, yes you heard it right, 6 frames. The symbol was set to loop so every time the play button hits the last drawing or frame, it will automatically loop back to the first frame. So all you have to do is to make a lightning effect drawing first.

Before we go on further, first make a lightning effect which has a direction going down. It's obviously needed to go down because it came from the top. Draw a lightning effect frame by frame. You can copy the same drawing that I did if you want. Here are the images.

I also made a variety of lightning effects that you can use as reference.

Those are my key drawings. Always remember your last keyframe should hook-up to the first frame because they are set as looping symbol. Draw your own lightning and follow what I said. You can use ruffs for your guide. If you noticed, I only have 5 key drawings. The last keyframe should remain as blank too hook-up the first.

Now, the last part is to make a negative image. Those are the blinking frames that you see on my GIF... to make this technique effective for your viewer. You can simply add a symbol using a white background to make it blink see the image below.

For example, your negative image is frame 4, You have to change the color of your keyframe 4 to negative so the white lightning will turn into black and then the background will turn into white. This is very important and always don't forget to put negative image. It will make an illusion of lightning that strikes fast.
