Enhancing Actifit with the addition of Shop and Challenges

Introduction

Actifit is a fitness application that rewards users with ACTIFIT tokens and Steem upvotes for using the application in their everyday fitness activities. Users must have a Steemit account to be eligible for the Steem upvote after which their fitness activity would have been published on their blog.

• Main menu section.

The main menu section needs to be enhanced to further improve the application

Proposal Description

I have been using Actifit for some time now and I can say it is a great application. The application has undergone many updates and currently in Version 0.5.1. However, there are some features that are absent which would have ensured massive adoption of the application.

Main menu section

I propose that the main menu section of the application to include two extra menu namely Shop and Challenges. This menu when selected will open a host of other options available for the user.
This proposal will be further explained in the mockups below.

Mockups / Examples

The main menu of the Actifit application should have 2 more menu named Shop and Challenges.

The above mockup shows how the Shop menu should display when selected. It displays goods available for both men and women. Beside the goods are the price in AFITs token and corresponding price in Euros.

The above mockup shows how the challenges menu should display when selected. There will be 2 tabs showing My Challenges and New Challenges. The My Challenges tab will display user completed challenges and ended challenges participated on by the user. The New Challenges tab will display challenges that the user can participate in. Opening the challenge will show a little description of what it is all about and the location the challenge is for.

Benefits

The AFIT tokens is meant to have value when SMT launch and will be used to gain access to participating gym centers. Why wait till then before creating value for the token? The shop menu will allow sellers to advertise goods for a certain amount of AFITs token. Interested buyers with that amount of AFITs can purchase the goods. This will further add to the existing ways of earning AFITs token. Buyers can then have enough tokens without necessarily engage in fitness activity. This tokens will be kept until SMT launch when they can trade for other crypto or utilize in other ways.

Implementing the challenges menu will lead to mass adoption of the application. The challenge menu will be a kind of large incentive for participating users. Users who complete the challenge will get more AFITs token for their effort compared to normal solo fitness activity. The challenge menu is a location based feature that encourages user present in that location to participate together to earn out of the challenge reward pool. The participation which of course will be a large gathering of Actifit users in their 10s and above will create awareness to other members of the public. They will want to know what is going on and ultimately ditch other fitness application for Actifit.

A typical example is
Setting a Get inspired by taking a walk challenge in Lagos, Nigeria with 5,000 AFITs token as the reward pool and 500 AFITs token as the eligible reward for each participating user. The GPS walk location can be from Iyana Ipaja to Oshodi which is about 2 miles. Users in this area will come together to participate therefore fostering relationship between members and promoting Actifit at the same time. Users will be eager to participate because they know they will earn more AFITs token compared to when they perform the same activity elsewhere alone. This will not only promote Actifit but will also promote Steemit to locals in the challenge region thus seeing massive adoption.

Conclusion

Implementing this features will go see Actifit reaching global adoption with relative ease.
