Simple Tools to Aid in Proper Management of Your Steem Account; #SteemAX (Part 4)

in #utopian-io6 years ago (edited)

With the Bearish crypto market and the downtrend in steem price, one would think steemit would become inactive. Instead, new members are being recruited every day and new project start-ups spring up every day on the steem blockchain. Although the effect of fall in price was significant, there was a large fall in daily activities on the steem blockchain. Spamming increased to an intolerable height, with hundreds of alt accounts created every day.

The major challenge that faced newbies that joined during this period was the lack of curation. With the fall of steem price, came the emergence of bid bots. There were few existing bots already like minnowbooster and randowhale. Right now if you go to Steembottracker.com, there is a long queue of bid bots.

How Does This Affect Curation?
Most whales on steemit have delegated their sp to bid bots for better returns in steem and sp as a form of interest. To get an upvote from a bid bot, you have to pay in steem or sbd. The amount you send will determine the weight of upvote you would get. The Use of bid bots is more of a promotional activity than a curation activity.

Today I bring a steem tool I feel is a better alternative to the use of Bid bots. Its name is SteemAX

What is SteemAX

SteemAX is an automated steem tool where two steem users can exchange upvotes with each other in an agreed ratio for a particular period of time. This is more than just an auto-upvote tool, it is a reciprocal auto-upvote tool with confirmation from both parties.

Unlike other auto-upvote tools like steemauto, SteemAX benefits both parties. This is more beneficial to minnows. With this, they can get support from whales with bigger sp.

How To Use SteemAX

The official website to set up your account on steemAX is Steemax.trade. When you click on the link, you will be taken to the home page of the website, where statistics of users and exchanges made are displayed. You then login to the site using Steemconnect.

To use steemAX, you have to invite the other party with whom you want to exchange votes with. You input the steem username in the box provided. Next, you input the voting percentage with which you want to enter the exchange agreement.

Next, you select the vote exchange ratio. The ratio of the invitee will be fixed at one(1), so you alter it till you get a good ratio you think the invitee would like. For example, if I want to invite utopian-io, I would set a 100% voting power with a ratio of 0.01:1. With this ratio, I would still be at the higher receiving end due to the large Sp of utopian-io.

Next, you select the duration of time you want the exchange to last. Afterwards you do the recaptcha and send an invite.

To send an invite, you would transfer 0.001 sbd to @steemax which will then generate a memo and sent to your invitee. The process is automated, you can send the sbd through steemconnect on the website.

Problems SteemAX will Face

Most people steem with their mobile due to easier portability. When you view you steemit wallet on a mobile (without selecting desktop site), you would be unable to see memos in your transaction history. Due to the large amount of bots that now spam your memo on steemit, one would see the transaction and overlook it, with thoughts that it must be one of those regular bots.
With this, getting the attention of your invitee, especially if you are not familiar with the steem user, might be difficult. If the steemAX team could devise a better means of reaching out to the invitee, probably through comments on their posts or mentions on a blog, it would be a good improvement.

Another way would be for the steemAX team to increase their popularity on the steem blockchain. Run some promotions or probably a contest. This way, a transaction from steemAX would ring a bell and would push one to check the memo. For example, with the popularity of minnowbooster on the steemit, one would hardly overlook it and not check the memo.

As a regular steemit user who wants to know if he has been invited on steemAX for a vote exchange, simply open **steemax.info/@username (for me, Steemax.info/@tony-duke). Currently, up to 1189 exchanges have been made on steemAX by 93 users. It's an amazing tool that most steemians needs to know about.

CONCLUSION

I have always dwelled on the issue of proper curation and use of sp on the steem blockchain as the best means of increasing the daily reward pool and indirectly increasing the daily activities on the steem blockchain. Everyone wants an upvote on their contents, but the reward pool is smaller than the upvote demands. To achieve an equilibrium between the demand and the available resources, we need to curate more. SteemAX like I called it is a reciprocal auto-upvote tool. With this, whales can support a minnow whom they love their contents and still get little support from the minnow too. Two minnows can also support each other with this. It's a tool for all levels of steem users.

Hi Tony-duke,

Thank you for your contribution. This is a precise and a decent review of the SteemAX project. The post reveals the basic functions and the purpose of the project. However, I have a few issues with it.

Your first paragraph is a little bit confusing. There are repetitions of words that mean absolutely the same. You should use one and omit the other. What do you mean by "startup, spring up"? afaik both means the same.

Furthermore, If your intention is to make this specific project review a series, you could also specify that in the post. I noticed that part 1,2,3,4 of this series is about different projects and that doesn't seem ideal. If you are writing a series of post, it is better you write on a project; not reviewing different projects.
