Project Details:

Project name: Node.js

Crowdin link:

GitHub link:

Node.js is a JavaScript runtime environment that achieves low latency and high throughput by taking a “non-blocking” approach to serving requests. In other words, Node.js wastes no time or resources on waiting for I/O requests to return.
It is designed to build scalable network applications.
Node.js is an open source server environment, as such, it is free to use.
Node.js can be used on various platforms (Windows, Linux, Unix, Mac OS X, etc.)

Contribution Specifications

Node.js is an open source project, so, everybody is free to help with the translation of the project on Crowdin.
This project was assigned to me by the Italian language mod and I will do my best to provide the best Italian translation so the users can have a truly great experience while using the software in Italian.
This project is a good opportunity for me to learn more about JavaScript and about the world of Node.js and how they work and also to improve my English skills and my general knowledge.
The project is composed of many files and has more than 1 million words waiting for the translation, so if you are in the Davinci team of translators I invite you to give it a try and translate it into your language as well.

Translation Overview

This is my first contribution for this project, and like any first contribution, it took me a bit longer in order to find the best translation because I had to first learn about the world of Node.Js.
This project is a bit more complex than the others because it has a lot of code and technical words in it.
The Node.js project is composed of many files, and the first file I've started to work on is named errors.md.
This file is made of over 6 thousand words and my next contributions will also be about this file.
As I was saying this translation was not very easy, because the project has a lot of technical words, and many words that have no translation in Italian, for this reason, some words have remained unchanged and won't be counted as translated words.
I would like to thank our expert in Node.js @robertbira who translated over 60k words on the project and helped everyone deciding whether a word should be translated or not.

Some examples of the strings I've translated

  • A handful of typically asynchronous methods in the Node.js API may still
use the <0>throw</0> mechanism to raise exceptions that must be handled using
    <0>try / catch</0>.

Una manciata di tipici metodi asincroni nell'API Node.js potrebbero comunque usare il meccanismo <0>throw</0> per generare eccezioni che devono essere gestite utilizzando <0>try / catch</0>.

  • The use of the <0>'error'</0> event mechanism is most common for <1>stream-based</1>
and <2>event emitter-based</2> APIs, which themselves represent a series of
asynchronous operations over time (as opposed to a single operation that may
    pass or fail).

L'utilizzo del meccanismo <0>'error' </0> event è più comune per API di tipo <1>stream-based</1> ed <2>event emitter-based</2>, le quali rappresentano una serie di operazioni asincrone nel tempo (diversamente da una singola operazione che potrebbe passare o fallire).

  • When the operation either completes or an error
is raised, the callback function is called with
the <0>Error</0> object (if any) passed as the first argument.

Quando l'operazione è completata oppure viene generato un errore, la funzione di callback viene chiamata con
l'oggetto <0>Error</0> passato come primo argomento (se presente).

Hi @silviu93.

This is your first contribution this week out of a maximum of three allowed.

Thank you and congratulation on your first Node.js contribution. I think you did a very good job: your translations were mostly very accurate and I only had to change a couple of missed capital letters and one very funny sounding past participle.

I’m looking forward to your next contribution. Keep up the good work!
