I agree with @jbn that starting users at $0.01 votes would help new users feel more hopeful when approaching this platform too. At the same time with so many users coming in at low rep initiatives should be made to help educate but more importantly help encourage the new Steemians to stick through the first month of uncertainty.
It's great to know we are getting a bunch of new members but if we aren't participating or helping out that much, there may not he a reason in their minds to stay. User retention is of the utmost importance right now.

Thanks a lot. Yes, @jbn and @hmushtaq have very good suggestion of $0.01 initial vote value. The post argues in favor of increasing votes value for beginners and minnows as well.
