OroCommerce Serbian Cyrillic Translation - Part 4 (~1005 words)
Project progress
While I was translating this part of OroCommerce project, I realized that I got the unique opportunity to learn about things I would never read about otherwise.
For example, I was working on a folder that contained strings related to the creation of new user accounts in OroCommerce front-end. At one point, I encountered this string:
Of course, first thought that came to my mind was - salt, sodium chloride (NaCl), the essential compound in our bodies, also used in cooking as a taste enhancer...???
Naaaah, that can't be it, because it would make no sense, given the context of the translation material. I had to suppress a biologist in me and search for another meaning of "salt".
After diving into really shallow waters of cryptography (only deep enough to learn the basics), I found that salts are used to add the additional layer of protection for stored passwords. This is necessary because people usually tend to use same passwords over and over again, which in most of the cases are not randomly chosen words, but rather predictable ones.
This is the explanation I found here:
A salt is simply added to make a password hash output unique even for users adopting common passwords. Its purpose is to make pre-computation based attacks unhelpful. If your password is stored with a unique salt then any pre-computed password-hash table targeting unsalted password hashes or targeting an account with a different salt will not aid in cracking your account's password.
Although I was kinda happy for learning something new, I found myself in a trouble, because I didn't know how to translate this word in this context, since there is no equivalent word in Serbian, so I decided to go for descriptive translation and leaving the original word in parentheses:
Project details
OroCommerce is a B2B (business-to-business) eCommerce, which means that enables electronic transactions between two or more business entities over the internet. This concept was made to improve buying efficiency for companies.
How B2B concept works? Companies are providing components or raw materials to one another via B2B transactions, and when a company has a finished product, the sale of that product to the end customer is performed via B2C (business-to-consumer) transaction. For example, a laptop manufacturer must make several B2B transactions to buy components such as mother boards, processors, graphic cards, memory, etc. in order to make a laptop. Once a company has made a laptop, it makes a single B2C transaction and sells it to the customer.

Thank you very much for your contribution, and wonderful post (I couldn't help but give the highest score for this category).
The accuracy was excellent, and all that I changed was one single letter "i" (Serbian "and").
The difficulty was average, although some strings were very long and required a lot of concentration:
Instead of giving a generic conclusion, I'll show why I love my devoted translators:
This is the difference between good and excellent!
