Tupolev Tu-160-Blackjack Development for FlightGear

Introduction

FlightGear (http://www.flightgear.org) is an open source flight simulator that is even used in flight schools to train basic maneuvers, radio communication and navigation tasks. It is available for windows, mac and linux.

In this article I want to introduce my development of Tupolev Tu-160-Blackjack, a supersonic, variable-sweep wing heavy strategic bomber.

• fixes some instrument lights in the cockpit: Gear warning, Altimeter in ft, Parking Brakes, Spoilers, Trimm neutralisations
  

• fixes the livery on 3 doors for flares and parachutes
  

• set a new logic for the battery switch, so that it is not possible to turn on the lights without battery on.

• change the groundspeed from km/sec in km/h in the HUD

• new version number

• changes are done in some xml-files with an editor and the ac-3D-model-file with Blender

Components

It affects the lightning in the cockpit for both light systems in FlightGear.
Wrong handling of the light switch will be now mentioned by a screen message.
Fixing the livery for the doors makes them look better.
New version number is transmitted over the multiplayer network so that I see an out of date model and give hints for updating.
