Antonov AN-22A Development for FlightGear

Introduction

FlightGear (http://www.flightgear.org) is an open source flight simulator that is even used in flight schools to train basic maneuvers, radio communication and navigation tasks. It is available for windows, mac and linux.

In this article I want to introduce my development of Antonov AN-22A.

Development steps

• On 7th January 2015 my first commit was made, since then 140 more commits are done.
• I took this model (an-22) from the official repository and improved it step by step in my own hangar and with a new model name AN-22A.
• FDM (Flight Dynamic Model) work to get realistic behavior
• Full Instrumentation in the cockpit with 180 instruments, lamps and switches
• Lots of Animations like paratroopers, tanks transport, ground effects, ambient lightning, doors, smoke for reverse and normal thrust, runway effects
• all Multiplayer compatible
• Autopilot programming
• Nasal programming for engine start up and lots of systems and instruments
• Various video productions with flights uploaded on Youtube and documented on Steemit.
• Some updates made now for fitting the new rules for contributions.
