A preamble to the Tutorial Contents

This is my first article using the much acclaimed Utopian-io interface, and this blog post is aimed at sharing some of the steps involved in drafting a seamless press release for your crowdfunding projects. The key action is to attract supporters for your project and once you have captivated this set of supporters then your ICO, Crowdfunding Crusades, Thunderclaps etc. is a success!

A critical feature to examine in any crowdfunding project/campaign is the systematic way of amassing adequate press coverage, this would attract several interested supporters to back your endeavors up if done in the best way. This is a goal that could be achieved through several tactical ways which start with the process of writing a concise, tasteful and clear compelling press release. A superb way to announce your project to the potential supporters of your project all over the World.

A WAY TO START IS WITH; WHO, WHY AND WHERE

WHO;

This is one of the factors to be figured out before drafting a press release for your crowdfunding project, getting optimum visibility is the key when the "WHO" question is addressed. Who are the people who would care for your reason for the particular project? A grave mistake Public Relations personnel make the inability to address the right Demography, it's like selling a "Mackerel to a fisherman"... Establishing a target market is essential, the category, Location.Work Industry and each consumer/user is very important.

WHY;

Why should people care about your project?
Another question that should address how your project would have positive impacts on everyone, even to supporters out of your work sector. For project directors and visionaries, it is a common occurrence where passion surpasses vision hence project coordinators and directors must endeavor to solve multiple problems and not just one problem peculiar to you. Having the interest of the supporters in mind as well as the objective of a project is essential.

WHERE;

Analysing "WHERE" the supporters that care about the reason for your projects converge is another uttermost question. The most important piece of the Puzzle is getting where to focus and market your resource. Having an ideal and comprehensive list of media outlets/journalist is the next move in the Chess Board Game.

WRITING THE CROWDFUNDING PRESS RELEASE

  • Once the mentioned conditions have been met if it is a first timer; researching on other related projects in the past with similar outreach and coverage with your targeted goals is a good start point, then looking up the media feedbacks and newsfeeds for that similar project is perfect. Then model your press release in that similar template.
  • Finally, some features to elaborate on in your press release would be;
    What
    Who
    Where
    When
    Why
    How much etc.

This features must be well explained and it is pivotal to add links of your crowdfunding projects, Websites, Profiles pages etc in the press release to enable anyone who gets the memo to return back to the website or campaign page sp as to support or get more details about the project via white or Blue papers as the cases may be.

PROMOTIONS

Promoting the now ready press release is not a hard task once you have crafted a fantastic one.

  • Subscribing to some Crowdfunding Press Release services is a good way to start.

  • Getting Bloggers, Public Relations Executives, Journalists with some News and Media coverage sites is another good tool needed in promoting your Crowdfunding Press Release. After giving it a try, kindly give me feedbacks.

This is really enticing. Keep the flag flying

Hi, these are the reasons your contribution was rejected

  • Tutorials must be technical instructions that teach non-trivial aspects of an open-source project.
  • The linked repository is wrong. It should be the repository of the open-source project you are contributing to (there is no open-source project in your case, so it was impossible to get this right).

It's a fine post, but not for the tutorial section or Utopian.io in general. I recommend you read the rules carefully before contributing again in the future.

First trial as stated.

linked repository is wrong because i have no idea what it means since it kept bringing Techy stuffs...Thanks and it's a fine interface as well...

Bro. This tutorial helped me so far. Good work you did.

You are welcome

Thanks for the suggestions! From what I understand, you are saying write it like a news article would be written, with the "who, what, why, when, where, and how," format. I've attempted to write a couple of crowd-funding campaigns, and the most difficult part for me is the, "Why should the reader care?" piece. That segment can be broad or narrow, and also so individual, I struggle with it. Perhaps I over think it, though. Some examples would help, if you have time.

I'd like to gain a better understanding, and examples always help me grasp concepts better. Thanks in advance!

Oh no, a press release for any Crowdfunding project is different from the actual proposal i.e Whitepaper or Blue one. That been said, "Why" seems not too complicated because you will have to address why was the idea birthed, why it is coming up and why people who needs mostly should understand the concept and see it as a solution to the problems they are having e.g Musicoin is a token that was created for copyright protection of Music makers among other things.

So the best way is to simplfy the purpose of that project as written in the White paper and make it a more grammatically simple to read in the press release that would be published in Articles and blogs all over the web.

Don't know if i made any sense...

Sure, that makes sense, thanks, Do you have an actual examples, though - like why someone should care? For instance, let's say I have a gadget - why does anyone care about my gadget as opposed to someone else's gadget? It's the care part that trips me up. A sample pitch line from a press release is what i was asking about. Thanks!

errm

"You know different strokes for diff folks", like different and multiple samples, but will look one up and send you a link on discord or steemchat my friend later in the day.

Thanks for sharing boss
With these tips

Finally, some features to elaborate on in your press release would be;
What
Who
Where
When
Why
How much etc.

We are good to go
