App crashes on rotating the screen while downloading datasheet

Project Information

Expected behavior

The app must be stable in screen rotation while searching.

Actual behavior

But when I rotate the screen twice while downloading the datasheet.

How to reproduce

  1. Install the app from fdroid.
  2. Launch the app.
  3. Click on "Search by part name" option. The app will fetch pdf links and show you some datasheets.
  4. Click on anyone of the datasheets shown and when it shows that it has started downloading, immediately change the orientation of the screen to landscape mode. (The app may crash after this too.)
  5. Now rotate the screen back to potrait mode.

    The app crashes.
  • App Version: 1.7
  • Device: Samsung Galaxy J5
  • Operating System: Android 6.0.1

    Hello @neupanedipen, the application crashes when I followed your steps, however I believe if the application is used in a friendly manner and sending less calls to the UI thread, the app would have not crashed, as this is a common issue with sending much calls to most Android apps UI
