About the Project

The Magic Frog is a Bot/Website utilizing the STEEM blockchain to reward everyone involved in a collaborative storytelling project. By submitting small pieces of text (and even images), that the community can vote on everyday, the story evolves and sometimes takes quite strange, funny or interesting turns.

The Magic Frog is currently available in English, French and German and more languages will follow!

Estimated Rewards

The website the-magic-frog.com now displays how the current pot value would be distributed among curators, delegators and storytellers and the estimated reward the logged-in user will receive if the story ends now. The value displayed takes into account how much you curated and/or delegated and how much you contributed to the story.

Adjust Vote Weight

To allow bigger accounts to have control over their voting power, like on other platforms, I added a simple way to choose the weight before voting. On clicking a like button a modal opens, where you can type the weight or adjust it in steps by using the +-buttons.

Expand Story and More Notifications

And last, two cosmetic issues:

Since the stories can theoretically go forever, only the first 10 parts are shown now, to avoid endless scrolling to you reach the new submissions and the form at the bottom of the page. You have to click a button to reveal the rest of the story.

To make the site a bit more verbose, I added more notifications popups for successful and failed votes as well as submitting the story.

What's Next?

Probably a complete refactoring of the whole code. Since I started this project as a learning subject for Vue.js, my skills have improved quite a bit and I would like to incorporate this new knowledge into the project.
