Hello everyone,
as mentioned in my previous contributions, I have been on a new Steemit mission since @utopian-io & @davinci.witness launched the Translation Category, giving us the chance to offer our services and provide quality translations for various Open Source projects. As I have mentioned several times in the past few weeks, FreeCAD is my second project and I have been having great fun working on the translations of this software. FreeCAD is an Open Source AutoCAD competitor that runs on Windows, Mac and Linux, and supports various types of open file formats.
Open Source means true freedom; there are no limitations. What better way to assist scientific progress and development than with the creation of free powerful tools. And even though this is not news to many of you, it is worth noting that the most important advantage of FreeCAD is the very fact that it is an Open Source project. As I have mentioned several times in the past few weeks, FreeCAD can be used by other programs as a library as well. Suppression of information can slow our civilization's progress down, that's why Open Source projects are a technological blessing of our times.

Contribution Specifications
- Translation Overview
This is the tenth part of a very demanding but wonderful and rather useful project. The main reason is the utilization of too many technical terms, but I'm positive that this is something you already know, as I have been talking about it in almost all of my previous contributions. It is also worth keeping in mind that FreeCAD is a large project that consists of roughly 31,770 words. Taking everything mentioned above into consideration, and in order to be able to provide a quality end product, I have decided that I will be translating from 1,000+ to 1,200+ words in each part, making sure to conclude at least two to three parts every seven days so that this project is finished in time. My translation is now 37.6% complete and subject to @ruth-girl's proof-reading.

I made sure to check all previously translated strings of the FreeCAD.ts file before I proceeded to start translating the remaining strings of the same file. One of the main reasons is the fact that this file in particular includes too many strings that were already translated and needed to be corrected. Some of those were just poorly translated, while others needed to be updated in order to follow newly edited and submitted strings. Once again, I checked all previously translated files (Arch.ts, Complete.ts, Draft.ts, Drawing.ts, Fem.ts) as well and made sure to correct a few mistakes that I spotted. Of course these words are never included in my word count and that was the case this time as well.
I don't mean to whine, however this was another exhausting part. Technical terms are plentiful and dev terminology makes things a lot more complicated. The FreeCAD.ts file includes too many unclear and demanding strings, forcing me to conduct extensive research in order to come up with proper solutions. It is worth mentioning that I didn't spot as many errors regarding syntax and grammar as I did while working on the previous pages of the FreeCAD.ts file. Nevertheless, there is a huge obstacle that is still standing in my way; the FreeCAD wiki documentation is still incomplete, therefore there are no explanations available regarding many tools and commands.
As a result, many features of the program remain unexplained on the web, which is a factor that induces the need for experience and theoretical knowledge. But I love FreeCAD and I'm more than glad to be working on the translation of this wonderful Open Source project. This is definitely the perfect project for me and I'm probably the 'perfect' candidate to handle this, as I am an Engineer who loves to work in his area of expertise. Not saying I'm the best translator by any means; I just meant to say that I am possibly the most stubborn guy around and undoubtedly one of the very few people on the Steem Blockchain who would enjoy working on this software that much.

According to Crowdin, in this part I translated 1,114 words (1,136 as demonstrated on Crowdin, minus approximately 2% of those as untranslated words). I have now translated a total of 11,972 words.

This time you have chosen a difficult project; not only is it a long text, but technical terms are plentiful in FreeCAD and you need to spend a long time looking up for the correct translation of those terms in the target (Greek) language. I trust you being an engineer qualifies you for this particular project and I am sure you will manage to complete it correctly.
This session was another “headache” that you successfully pulled through. You had to deal with difficult terms again and ambiguities in the meaning of some strings (without a context and explanations from the project owner, this is very very hard). If this text made my mind a mess just by reading it, I don’t want to know what it did to you that you had to look up terms and decide on the appropriate translation. Still, your translation was correct, I like that we leave some terms “open” for future corrections once a file is completed (so that we can decide on the most accurate translation as soon as we have the whole picture).
I very much liked your contribution post; well, I sympathize with you because I have to do the proofreading of your work, but the way you describe everything helps people outside the project understand how demanding this translation is. So, other than covering the basics, you managed to give the reader a taste of what it’s like to work on this specific project.
Thank you once again for putting so much effort in this! I doubt any other translator would choose to stick to FreeCAD and not replace it with another, easier project.
