- Translation Overview
Thought to discover interesting things in the process of translating the main game part, I decided to learn the word "Chalice"
What is Chalice?
The word Holy Grail or Chalice also comes from an ancient French word Sangreal. In normal interpretation, Sangreal is made up of two words San (Holy) and Graal (Cup).
From the legend of medieval knights to the Indiana Jones series, for hundreds of years the Chalice has been the most sought after Christian treasure in popular culture.
Chalice is often considered to be the glass of Jesus used to drink at the Last Supper, and also the glass that Joseph of Arimathea used to catch the blood of Jesus when he was crucified.
Due to the importance of Jesus being crucified and the sacrament of the Eucharist in Christianity, hunting for Chalice has become the most sacred quest to seek because it is considered an expression of attachment to God.
Jacopo Bassano and Dante Gabriel Rossetti with pictures of Chalice. Leonardo Da Vinci has a famous picture named "The Last Supper" (or "The Last Party"). It is said that after Leonardo Da Vinci painted it, many people praised him for painting the Holy Grail, so after that Da Vinci shaved it off so that viewers could pay attention to the meaning of the painting.
Because of the fascinating nature of the curious curse, the Holy Grail is also the subject of many fantasy novels, such as Michael Baigent's The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, Richard Leigh.
