This contribution was carried out after I pitched in my idea to the project owner about the need to have a privacy policy document. I contacted the project owner publicly via an issue on Github.
Overview
Fruit Radar is an Android software which allows you to store the found plants on the phone and upload them when an Internet connection is available. This software according to developer collects a lot of personally identifiable information of end users when the software is utilized hence having a privacy policy statement for this project which would be highly necessary and that's why I offered to create the document. Having utilized the software for quite some time I found the software very useful and exciting and was enthusiastic about contributing to the project and the project owner was very supportive of my proposal and ideas.
Actual content
The privacy policy document I created contained points found in privacy policy templates which can be easily found on the internet. However, over eighty-seven percent(87%) of the document was fully modified to suit only Fruit Radar software.

The privacy policy document was created by me, however, I received massive support from the project owner who gave me a head start in creating the document with valuable information about the project and its technicalities. I had a handful of information from the readme file and also from my experience with the gotten overtime. The document had some minor errors which the project owner pointed out to me and I corrected those errors. Ideas on how to best to inform users about the existence of the new document were discussed and I exchanged ideas with him. From my assertions the developer cares a lot about the end users of his project, and he's keen on making this policy statement available to everyone who uses the software irrespective of their language and thus has opened an issue seeking for contributions from the open source community for the document to be translated. The developer also bought my idea of including the policy in the app as a pop-up dialog when it is launched so every end user knows about it. He opened an issue also for people to help.
