@flauwy Steemit with WordPress is a good idea.
But How we are going to handle duplicate content issues? (SEO)
I suggest to use Canonical Tag in the headers. In this case, you need to put Rel Canonical to Steemit URL, from WordPress Page. Because, there is no control for authors to change the canonical URL in Steemit pages.

Nope. I don't do WordPress development. But I'm having experience in WordPress SEO.
Really great point. I think the final goal for all steem users would be integrating steem blockchain with everything related to 'content'. Maybe adding it to WordPress is just a start, I can see more integration on steem coming
Now I think that having a sandbox-standalone website system for Steem projects could be even better.
