PROJECT DETAILS

The project that I have taken charge of is Steem White Paper (Genesis). Genesi means that it is the first draft. This document has great value, even if there is a more recent and updated version; given that without a comprehension of the basis of the past it is difficult to have a clear vision of the future. This project is very important and has unlimited possibilities that come up after you take a read of it. Thanks to my role of translator I have the great opportunity of comprehend always better its values and its complexity. The sector of the blockchain is in rapid expansion and Steem is an optimal example of one of its many applications that can be aimed at. The fusion between social media and cryptocurrencies really has optimal expectations for the future.

CONTRIBUTION SPECIFICATIONS

  • Translation Overview:

This is my sixteenth work as a translator for the Steem White Paper (Genesis) project. With this translation I completed about 77% of the project assigned to me. I'm coming to the end of this job, and I've gained a lot of new knowledge about Steem. The motivations that drive me to translate are my belief in the concept of open source. My work remains unchanged and consists in translating from Italian to English. In these thousands words we have come across different topics: scalability, renting with timesharing and buying, all to compare it to Steem. Below I propose a brief extract of this comparison.

When someone owns a house they expect the right to use the house for free. If a group of people buy a house together then each can expect the right to use the house proportional to their percentage ownership in the house. A fee based blockchain is like renting the house from its owners, whereas rate limiting is like a timeshare among owners.
If a house is owned by multiple people then those individuals must decide how they wish to timeshare the house. Someone who owns 50% of the house but only uses it one weekend per year might expect to be paid by the individuals who take their unused time. This is the mindset of a fee based system.
