This project aims to provide a perfect and accurate translation for the Gridcoin Whitepaper. As already mentioned in the whitepaper, Gridcoin can be defined as:

“an open-source blockchain that mints and distributes cryptocurrency in relation to the processing power a network participant directs toward data-driven analysis and scientific discovery. People can easily start working on something or become a part of something, without the need to have a clear understanding of everything. The idea of Gridcoin is really clear and quite simple. Gridcoin aims to incentivize people to be part of something greater to serve humanity while being rewarded at the same time. People who want to share a small percentage of processing power to serve this noble cause don’t need to have advanced knowledge about how the whole ecosystem works. They just need to download a simple software, chose the project that they want to work on, and voila!

I think everyone who knows Gridcoin or already shared processing power knows exactly that Gridcoin is not just a cryptocurrency. I am personally proud to know that we are providing as a community a decent amount of power to BOINC. BOINC can be seen as a conglomeration of volunteers around the world who have one simple goal, a better future. It is also amazing that the Gridcoin network is playing a huge role, all this power allowed the whole network to compete with the top 500 supercomputers in the world, which clearly demonstrate the power of people and communities.

The whitepaper presents a simplified explanation for all aspects that people might be interested in if they want to learn more about Gridcoin.

Since I already have a decent understanding of the project, I have to say that translating this project is something that I really enjoy. Nonetheless, for people who never heard before of Gridcoin, I am sure that they will find some difficulties to understand many words and concepts. Such as crunching, magnitude, projects approval, and so forth. This is why I took the liberty to tweak the strings a little bit without changing the meaning to better capture the signification of the strings. I also faced a few concepts that I will try to list below and explain them properly.

One of the few adjustments I've made is to keep a clear text format, especially inside strings containing references. That's why I decided to add one more word to keep a clear format and solve the problem, as well as the deletion a few words to achieve more finesse, adding commas ... Here is a simple example :

On top of that, there are many terms and words that are difficult to find or not completely conceptualized in Arabic:

• The first word is “crunching” which I translated as (المشاركة بالحوسبة - حوسبة), the word (crunching) is well known by all Gridcoin enthusiasts, and to be honest, I believe even native speakers can find the word a bit ambiguous since people are using it to describe the process of sharing the processing power on a specific project to solve the tasks or just the solo crunching to secure the network.
• The second thing that I did was doing some research to find a clear description of (legacy and developing systems). Fortunately, I found this file created by the Free Software Arabization Team and I did choose to go with (الأنظمة التراثية والمستحدثة). I have already contacted them to see if we can cooperate in the future since our goals are the same.
