BANNER DESIGN CONTEST FOR STEEMMAKERS
Hello everyone and @steemmakers … it’s another great day again with so much amazing things happening, hope we are having a wonderful week ahead. Today, I will be showing the processes I took to create this banner design proposal for SteemMakers as a contribution.
Below are the steps that were taken to create the logo design.
BRIEF OVERVIEW
Before we start, I will like to quickly give a brief overview about this design. I got to know about the request for logo and banner design by @steemmakers and it struck me to jump on board. I decided to separate them so as to be able to explain each design process in detail. I wanted to create a banner that looks clean at the same time portraying SteemMakers. So I started thinking out ideas and concepts, then if decided to jump into photoshop and let my creativity run wild. The logo design process can be found here

TOOLS USED
- Computer (windows PC)
- Adobe Photoshop CC 2014
- Creative thinking
Now to the fun part;
STEP 1
It all started with an idea and concept in my head
STEP 2
Next I jumped into photoshop and created a 2000px by 452px document size and filled it with a dark bluish colour.
STEP 3
After that, I imported the logo I created earlier, scaled it down and placed it where I wanted it.
STEP 4
Next, I duplicated the logo and scaled it up and placed it at the right edge of the banner and also reduced the opacity to make it blend with the design.
STEP 5
After that, I created a hexagon shape and duplicated the hexagon shape 4 times, making it 5 hexagon shapes in total. I arranged and positioned them how I wanted it and also reduced the opacity to make it blend with the design.
STEP 6
I did a screenshots of steemmakers site and brought it over to photoshop to superimpose the design on the site header area. This was to visualize how it will look on the site.
STEP 7
And this is how I created the banner design proposal for SteemMakers.
CONCLUSION
This banner design was just pure creativity, there was no rule behind the design, I just wanted to create a design that feels clean and portrays SteemMakers.
