To extract this data, the following SQL query has been used:

It would also be valid to join the TxVotes table and add to the WHERE clause to check if 'parent_author' = 0.

Total number of votes given in the past 7 days: 766

Number of votes given in the past 7 days for comments: 9

Daily average: 109

Total number of votes given in the past 30 days: 1749

5. Summary

The number of average daily votes has risen impressively since inception date. This shows the number of author posts relating to @utopian-io increasing, and the accounts' willingness to support them.

The average reputation of post owner voted on is steady at 57 and has even fallen a little since day 1. This shows a good level of commitment to newer members of the Steem Blockchain who are producing work for @utopian-io.

Vote weight is fallen in line with the increasing amount of Steem Power the account holds. This is sensible and good to see, and most votes over the past week are in the 0 - 25% weight range.

Author popularity is changing from week to week, another good sign of rewards being spread and new contributors arriving.

Overall, I think @utopian-io are using their Steem Power delegations well, rewarding many authors and content with a sensible weight of vote.

6. Tools used to gather this report

The data is sourced from SteemSQL - A publicly available SQL database with all the blockchain data held within (Data is normally 1/2 hours delayed from live)

The SQL queries to extra to the data have been produced in both SQL Server Personal Edition and LINQPAD 5.

The charts used to present the data were produced using MS Excel.

This data was compiled on the 21st November at 8:30 am CET

@utopian-io, well thumbs up to your achievement. Indeed that is something, how much he is contributing. Awesome.
He is next on my witness vote.

I voted today actually :)

I did it too now :)

Great post Asher! I am very happy to see that vote weight by author REP has such a nice even distribution. It seems that utopian-io is doing a good job of rewarding content instead of reputation, as it should be. Thanks for sharing the queries you used to pull this data, to me that gives this post so much more value than just the analysis itself (which is already very interesting) - the queries are a great starting point for someone who has a little knowledge of SQL (like myself) and wants to get into analyzing the blockchain.

My question for follow up research would be to look at both the raw numbers of votes per allowable submission category (and vs. total # submitted in that category if that is possible, which would involve splitting out the tags from the json_metadata to get the 2nd tag/submission category), and also average vote strength for various submission categories. I am sure this would definitely interest contributors and potential/future contributors!

Just a note for any readers - @arcange is upgrading the SteemSQL database infrastructure to better support the heavier use loads it has been experiencing and he is doing this out of his own pocket. If any of the readers of this comment have a big heavy wallet full of SBD or STEEM that you just don't know what to do with, consider a donation to @arcange in support of the amazing, publically accessible SteemSQL database! (sorry to hijack your comment thread Asher - great post!)

Thanks Carl, very helpful reply this.

I did wonder about the SQL server as more of us start to use it in earnest. I'm going to send a donation over to @arcange shortly - thanks for that.

I'll check to see if I'm not stepping on others toes before the excellent additional analysis suggestions - certainly worth a look. I did see the json_metadata looking quite different (I'm assuming it's utopian submissions and on the phone so can't check), but I'm sure it can be solved.

Thank you!

yeah I haven't dug around too much but I did notice the json_metadata was structured very differently for utopian.io posts. This could be a future post in and of itself - how to unpack the tags from the json_metadata of a utopian.io post! Here is where they are located, you can see that they are buried behind a ton of other data that you wouldn't see in a normal steemit.com post:

Awesome!

You doing that one or shall I get on it tomorrow?!

Feel free :) I have a bunch on my plate the next few days :)

Very cool and thanks for sharing. It's good to see an analysis on this account since it has grown so fast and become so powerful.

Great to see they are putting all that steempower to good use in the community.

Yes I thought it would be a good idea to take a look and see if the SP is being used wisely. It's being spread around which is good to see!

Thank you, I got some knowledge of reading your post

nice article and gread posting
you have a good talent for review some think
from @kupi

But the thing is only developers can pay their part in utopian-io.

It's much more than that..
