RE: User Authority: @steem-ua - A whale next week?
So let's say steem-ua made it and became the most powerful account on the blockchain, so 2 guys are going to rule all of the community behaviour on a "decentralized" network?
If they say "comments are valuable" so everyone is going to comment violently to get two cents more.
If they say "less you follow, more your account's worth" so everyone is going to unfollow the inactives.
If they say "if you put images in your posts bla bla".. hope I explained my concern.
Yes :)
It could be handed over at some point, or become open source?
I believe it is only the comments on your post that count, so you will need to comment 'well' elsewhere to bring visitors.
I don't see a problem with this at all.
Can you explain this a bit further? :)
I heard that "handing over" might be their intention at first place, yet I don't know for sure. And being open source is not going to change the fact that a group of people will decide what we need to do to be able to get more.
Unfollowing of course not a problem but when you do it just because you told so, is kinda bad. And this one might seem harmless but we don't know what will be the next metric they'll add to their algorithm. Like the last one I try to explain, for now we need to be followed by witnesses to get a higher ua score. Become one if possible to gain more from ua votes. What if they say you need to put at least 3 images to your posts because it's more appealing so it will affect your ua in a better way. Or what if they say you can increase your score by mentioning steem-ua in your posts, or put a link to steem-ua website. I don't know they can implement anything they want and we know steem userbase is keen to do whatever it needs to be done for a cent.
We may feeding our next monster unintentionally.
That's the cool thing about it, the delegation can be pulled in 1 minute and the 'monster' is no more.
I appreciate concerns, but trust these guys (whilst obviously working towards making a few STEEM for themselves) are trying to improve the place. Whether that be distribution of rewards, the trending page, or whatever. I say give it a chance, and if the monster appears, the bad press will spread like wildfire and the delegations will be gone.
Unless the ROI is super-profitable for them...sorry for adding this wedge here 😉
Everyone was cheering to bid-bots I imagine when people are finally be able to take over the trending. (=
And now, Is scipio The Sun That The Oracle Predicted A Year Ago?
It is at least great to see some people voice some concern. When they start talking about delegating and ROI…. Well we already had been down that road.
Yes they were, including me :) Happy to be proved wrong, again!
It's the way things are heading with Oracles though, lists of lists.
Gotta love @stellabelle!
