Creating such blind devotion to anyone or anything is usually reserved for religious entities and faith based ideology. I would guess these strategies are going to be the new normal going forward. Obama advertisers did what only Apple and perhaps a few other luxury brands manage to accomplish to a lesser extent: create demand for a new product that does exactly what the old one you had does but is new and stylish and all the 'influencers' say you should get it. Create the emotional environment where the damage to those who worked to create it and society as a whole are ignored or necessary evils.
