@upme broken?

The picture tells the story. Why did @sasho get such a low reward?

This bidding round ended just before 2PM. I think CET, as I live in amsterdam. It ended about 1 hour ago.

Btw, all these steemonians voted in the last 2 minutes. According to steemitbottracker one should not do any bids. But as they almost don't lose any curation it is profitable for them. But they also kill rewards for other users.

Thanks to @yabapmatt this post gets my attention. I will try to explain why this is happening.

Bots with power more than 1 million have a problem with percent rounding. This is a steemit bug. In this case last bids from the current round get same pecent as others - 1% in the beginning but, in start of the round bot has 100% voting power so steemit round this to bigger upvote in the end of the round this 1 percent has less value because bot is not supposed to drop under 98% of voting power.

Some time bidders win more, sometimes lose in current case bot tracker shown - $5.78 upvote value and user gets - $5.75 pretty close.
Other user jins bid 3.4 and get 1.04% upvote ( 1.01% for sasho ) and steemit round this 1.04 to 1.5%.
Is a complicated but we cannot predict how steemit will round the percents and also depends on how much bids the round have.

I really read a fucking lot about paid upvote bots. But I never saw anyone mention this bug.
Sorry for my language, but I find it frustrating that there are so many scams and tricks to earn money. And now also a big which maybe could be used for personal benefits.
In essence I still think the steemit concept can really work and could be great.

I have a few questions, let me start with 3 of them, to keep this post a bit short.
1 are you the owner of @upme?
2 are they any publications about this bug?
3 your last sentence seems to indicate that this bug is a bit random. So do you think it is NOT possible to benefit from it?
I mean it looks kind of easy to do the math and always earn big.

  1. Yes.
  2. Yes. This post explains it very well - https://steemit.com/minnowbooster/@minnowbooster/minnowbooster-wrong-vote-values-the-problem-and-the-upcoming-solution
  3. Users try to exploit it, this is why most bots have min bid 3SBD or more. But every exploit has 2 sides and some time to much bids in one round balance the things.

This post has received a 0.15 % upvote from @speedvoter thanks to: @crypto-econom1st.
