All we could say...

It was a fantastic crazy ride we had!

Every volunteer came early, we prayed together the night before, we prayed together early in the morning; and we prayed again right before the event starts!

Three is a charm, isn't it?

The day was perfect, there was no rain in sight near our premise. Despite the rumbling warning from afar at the end of the event, but the coast is clear for volunteers, vistors, pastors, donors and recipients to come and enjoy the fun!

In this post we would just like to show you the preparation of the event; it was a little late on delivering breakfast for the kids as many have not arrived, the kids were just enjoying looking at the hall that was specially decorated for their amazement.

Gifts were laid at the side and and the teachers and volunteers who were early did a great job keeping the kids in line.

If you have seen kids with the Santa hats they were the mighty little helpers of the day! Volunteers as young as 6 years old were already there early to help get necessary items done, like taking out freshly made nonya kueh (Malaysian desserts) out to the tables.

The kitchen was buzzing with volunteers chomping down some food right before the event start, and we had dumplings, nasi lemak, samosa, curry puffs and coffee ready to boost the able bodies for action.

Performers from one of our recipient centers, the Rumah Juara children's home were anxious to flex their muscles for last minute rehearsals, and all we can say was despite of hiccups (which we clearly know it will happen), things were running as planned and we managed to wrap it up by 1pm.

The food distribution bags

We only prepared around 240 bags that day and kept the rest aside in the food bank as there were last minute changes for not all the families managed to come to KL, especially the inland aboriginal families.

But they were not forgotten and we have prepared their special packs personally delivered by the outreach team so that they will not feel left out.

Our caterers were a joy

Despite they were hired to help the event, they were not stingy with the preparation. The recipients not only filled up their tummies to the brim, they were also able to pack some home so that they do not need to cook another meal in the evening.

This, is what we called overflow abundance!

Because even our volunteers get to pack food home and set aside.

No, we do not believe in food wastage.

We are just so grateful that our volunteers stepped up and went extra miles with their strength, smiles, and distance just to bring joy to the hearts of these under privileged families; and this is something money can never buy.
