I promise to tell my story of thing I saw and learnt during the meet-up of Saturday 18th November, 2017 at the Alumni Multipurpose Hall of University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, and that is exactly what I will be doing in this simple but educative post. I plead for your indulgence to flow along with me as I share this unforgettable experience with you.

It was for me an experience I will never forget for a very long time. A lot was learnt during the program and I’m really looking forward to the next meet up since we’ve decided to hold it sometime soon.

The event started on a wonderful note with the welcoming remark by my steemit boss @tojukaka , who did a great job by introducing to us our main guest speaker in the person of @ejamai of the @stach project (STACH here means Steemit Accelerator Hub), and it was an honor for me seeing this wonderful man of great vision. His (@ejemai) show of humility and calmness is exceptional and admirable. The Stach #project20millionnaija campaign is already on and the Ibadan steemit is ready to partner with project to make sure that the project is a reality.

Stach

Followed was a question and answer session which was anchored by @tojukaka . We are privileged to have not only @ejemai around but also @gbenga of Ile-Ife steemit community who happens to be one of the steemians I respected so much due to the great work is doing in the University environment of Obefemi Awolowo University as related to developing and creating the awareness of steemit to Nigerian students there. Answers were proffered to all form of questions as related to Steemit, Cryptocurrency, Blockchain ask by participants.

With @ejemai and @ggenga (great guys)

Then one of the highlight of the program was the presentation of a medical doctor steemian called @thelovejunkie titled “Steemit Etiquettes” which really blows my mind. In her presentation, she was able to open my eyes to things I never thought really matter as a steemian and as well important to know.

@thelovejunkie (celebrate you)
She was able to breaking all those points on after the other and everyone at the meeting will agree with me that she did a wonderful job to the topic. Really looking forward to when she would be doing a post as related to those etiquettes mentioned. Everyone needs to learn from all the points discussed. I will like to say a big thank you to her for delivering such a sound and educative presentation.

Then we also enjoyed some freebees from @japfive who gave free data to all the people participants at the meet-up. Doing something of that magnitude was a special thing for me and that show much some people wants this platform to grow. One of the newbies that came for the meet-up told me that “He was really impressed at the way things were done that day such that he is ready to preach the gospel of steemit to all his friends and family members” (Quoting him there). He was actually referring to what @japfive did because he was expecting it. Thanks to @japfive for that wonderful acts of giving. You are celebrated. Then later he talked about how passionate we all are as per the platform. Such a passion he said.

@ejemai during his short lecture hinted us about the plan of establishing a Steemit accelerator Hub (Stach) in Ibadan, just like the one in Port-Harcourt were steemians can come around and do their work. And I was surprise when he said there will be free internet services, 24 hours uninterrupted power supply and people will be on ground to help interested prospective steemian to enjoy their stay when they come visiting at the hub. That sounds like CREATION OF JOB for someone. Waoh! That is what steemit can do to a community and a nation at large. It was a welcomed idea and we believe that it will kick off very soon especially with someone like @tojukaka and other steemian like me in Ibadan to make it a reality. We are really looking forward to this. He also talked about steemit and steem. Thanks to @ejemai for such an awesome idea. We can say that coming to Ibadan steemit meet-up was a blessing for us all.

To finally round off the meet-up for the day, we watch a video clip from @surpassinggoogle and it was so inspiring. We really celebrate @surppssinggoogle for show of love towards us that despite his tight schedule and compounded with the fact that he was at the hospital with his mother who is presently sick. We pray for her quick recovery. He still looked for a way to do this video clips for us. That is another level of selflessness, passion and love for people as displayed by him. We celebrate you for that and we are not taking it for granted. Thanks boy Terry.
