Dear Steemian Ladies,

This post is intended to show you the background on how I made a gorgeous set of dangling earrings as well as matching bracelet without spending big.

THE EVENT

The dinner party was a corporate event and I knew most of the people invited. So instead of a black dress I thought of wearing a grey suit. I thought to wear pearls that would match the suit. And so...thoughts...thoughts...thoughts! The safer jewelry to have were pearls. I didn´t want to wear fine jewelries, so I had the idea of upgrading a set of simple earrings that I bought when I visited Manila some years back. And then, I had a silver plated necklace that came with a mail order product as a bonus. I didn´t really want to wear it, but the chain had potential and could be used for another project. It was just a plain long chain with some silver beads and so I kept it for later use.

THE IDEA

To make them into matching jewelries, I went to a mineral shop and bought a string of freshwater pearls each in cream and dark grey color. Of course, the dark grey ones were just colored. I had the wires and the toggle clasp already in the craft box since I´ve been making mineral jewelries before. So I assembled the materials according to what I had in mind.

HERE´S WHAT I DID

For the earrings, I cut the wire gauge, insert the dark grey pearls with silvery flowerettes on both sides and twisted the wires with my special pliers into hooks to connect the pieces to the earrings. It was just a simple upgrading the look of what had been there already... the earrings composed of the brownish mother of pearls that looked like buttons and the cream colored freshwater pearls, and when I added the dark grey ones, it matched my suit perfectly.

For the charm bracelet, I simply cut the long chain into pieces and gather the end with the ring of the toggle clasp. The small silver rings were also from the craft supply. Then, I used the silver finish wire gauge to make the hooks and attached the cream and dark grey pearls onto the bracelet. Perfect!

Below is my pic wearing the jewelries at the party as proof. Hope you like the creations!

Thank you so much @yehey ... I did have an Etsy shop even when I was still having my corporate job. But it was so much stress for me so I stop it a couple of years back. I even got orders from Japan and sent a client 50 sets of mineral earrings. I also had clients from Germany and the US, but as I said, it was way too stressy . Now that I´m retired, I´m busy as ever you know - crypto, steemit blogging, etc. LOL!
