The Only successful Interview

"Tell me something about yourself"

"Sir, I'm a graduate in engineering. My parents are daily wage labourers working in agriculture land of others.I have the privilege of being very first graduate of our family"

"Nice to hear that young man. Your CV shows that it's been two years since you graduated. What were you doing for all these days?"

"Well, I was working in a manufacturing company as a machine operator"

"Experienced guy!.You are a mechanical engineer, right? Then why did you apply for this job?"

"It's extremely hard to get a good job In the field of my specialisation sir. The work I had been doing for last two years was actually a manual labour. Most of the people worked with me had never been to college in their entire life. The funniest part out of all was that to give that job they had conducted a Writing test and face to face interview.Salary was too low that it didn't even fetch me enough to satisfy my stomach!"

"Oh my goodness! But you shouldn't have given up.It is the experience that makes a man perfect dear.If you had worked for couple more years you would have become a great player!"

"That's utter non-sense sir.I wasted my two years repeating the same tasks again and again..There is nothing new to learn. One man whom I got acquainted with, works there like anything for last 25 years and still, he possesses that same tag of the last-level labourer and gets the same low salary!"

"Sad to hear that! Why did you not try to get a job in government sector?"

"I should have, but I didn't try. I didn't know what to do next when I was in college.Internet was costly. My teachers and friends were all coming from the nearby villages.Their perceptions and knowledge were too narrow to share anything effective..The system was obsolete. There was no chance to know anything beyond our rotted books and nearest villages!"

"So you came to know about the actual engineering only after coming out of your college.Isn't it?"

"Yes, sir. I hadn't heard about IITs, My ability to handle English was limited and I was living in a delusion that it would be easier to get a job right after completing my studies!"

"I feel pity for you.Why do you think it is best to work in a BPO company such as our's?"

"I can do the work sitting in front of a computer.I don't need to sweat in heat anymore because the entire office has been air-conditioned.Although the pay package is almost similar to what I was getting till now, I laud this job as it gives me a chance to dress well"

"Haha, lol. When can I expect you joining our 'Call Centre'?"

In India, The number of unemployed engineering graduates rapidly increases year by year.Poor families spend a lot of money in educating their children only to see them unemployed later. There are a lot of success stories of poor children conquering high positions doing the rounds...But that number is not enough! BPOs are flourishing under the advent of unending fresh engineering graduates.

BRo you filled my eyes. Very emotional story because we don't have proper knowledge about our stream future.

Sometime we choose it as passion or follow other. It's good to graduate and do prepared for govt. job.

But we don't get enough time for its preparation bro! Engineering sucks a lot of money within four years..we will be under the surveillance of the bank where we took the education loan by then!

As per our former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan,Students should refrain from pursuing some garbage degrees..for that to come into existence a lot of purge in our entire system is required.

I don't this govt. is playing with us. Our parents are not literate so they suggest us something but govt. should take step in this matter otherwise they alert us about bitcoin but they don't alert us about educational path.

It takes time to die illiterate politics and birth of literate politics.

This was a very interesting read for me. I had been there and if my understanding is correct there is a little fault in us too. And that being not knowing what we actually want. I have seen people with excellent knowledge about programming work in BPO while some idiot is going through the Google for getting the syntax and definitions. And the education system is whole another story..

One must drive himself to be better than where he is just like the fellow in the story. Although I wished he switched earlier.

Thank you!

This is my own story..

And that being not knowing what we actually want

Indeed..If one is the first among his/her entire kins to get a good education, that person will be left with a lot of indecisions!

You mentioned one side of the story. Who will mention the caste-class division in this asshole nation? This is a failed state. We are suffering and not revolting, because we are peace loving people. If this was somewhere else the entire system would have collapsed...

You are right,I haven't mentioned other flaws our country has been struggling with for a long while now. The caste based classification is a real disaster. Many rich people keep on getting high salaried key positions for generations just because of their lower-caste tag!

The Power and Money continues to dominate the job market..These all issues are well known secrets.

Leaving them apart, let's come to the aspirants..They are not getting the quality education inspite of of the lakhs of rupees they have to spend..These looting centres keep on flourishing at the cost of some poor ignorant citizens! That's not the case in western countries..In there the method of learning seems to be very qualitative!

The caste based classification is a real disaster. Many rich people keep on getting high salaried key positions for generations just because of their lower-caste tag!

Why this caste-based division crept into the government? Have you ever thought about brahmanical texts which defined our society based on caste? "Lower" caste people should be given reservation benefits considering the fact that 1000s of years which they suffered. We have only seen 70 years after independance. So I completely support caste-based resevation. But I agree that there should be reservation based on financial basis too. But caste based reservation is a must. #Nangeli

That's why I used the specific word 'Generations' in it..Uplifting them socio-economically is great. But keep on showering blessings only upon them for an unlimited period of time is unacceptable.I guess you might have known about Tina Dabi,The 1st rank Holder of previous year's civil service exam, abusing the caste tag to easily enter into mains stage. Her family is well settled..yet...

But I'm not against caste based reservations because, still the manual scavenging and all are associated with this apartheid.
