Ulog + photography 📷Ulography - Nº 16 -The moon gulls returned - Las gaviotas de luna volvieron
I continue, after a short break, with this opportunity that @sunnylife gives us, this fusion called #ulografia: Photography accompanied by writing. Today I present my 16th Ulography, documenting the return trip of the Isla de Margarita, the "Pearl of the Caribbean", where I relaxed (together with my mother) for 20 days.
Continúo, después de un breve receso, con esta oportunidad que nos brinda @sunnylife, esta fusión llamada #ulografia: Fotografía acompañada de escritura. Hoy les presento mi 16va Ulografía, documentando el viaje de regreso de l Isla de Margarita, la "Perla del Caribe", donde me relajé (junto con mi madre) durante 20 días.
And I can tell you correctly that our island of Margarita is only a shadow of what it was. The ruin and the abandonment cross the streets of the once flourishing insular region, a paradise for tourists and buyers of free port. The center with its boulevards reveals the dying Venezuelan reality. Many stores closed, others changed the bouquet and only sell very expensive imported foods. Irrigated water, abandoned dogs ... I saw that, walking on the boulevards.
Y puedo decirles con propiedad que nuestra isla de Margarita es sólo una sombra de lo que fue. La ruina y el abandono caminan por las calles de la otrora floreciente región insular, paraíso de los turistas y de los compradores de puerto libre. El centro con sus bulevares revelan la agónica realidad venezolana. Muchísimas tiendas cerradas, otras cambiaron de ramo y sólo venden alimentos importados muy caros, agua regada, perros abandonados... Eso vi caminando en los bulevares.
Of course, the emerald of the sea and the lapis lazuli of the sky conserve their splendor, filling our eyes with hope. Sitting in the Port of "Punta de Piedras", waiting for the boat that would take us back to Cumaná, I was able to capture these images that recreate the beauty of the landscape.
Eso sí, la esmeralda del mar y el lapislázuli del cielo conservan su esplendor, llenando nuestros ojos de esperanza. Sentadas en el Puerto de "Punta de Piedras", esperando el barco que nos llevaría de vuelta a Cumaná, pude captar estas imágenes que recrean la belleza del paisaje.

The boat arrived and, with it, the return home, home, to the routine of which we ran to submerge for twenty days in an anti routine that became routine, pleasant in excess, contemplating the joy of my mother to share with her family Margariteña, playing dominoes several times a day and experiencing the lovely attentions of my cousin and host. I can not help but recognize that it was a wise decision to cross the sea, in search of peace, because I found it. In addition to the strength to renew with brio the flow of daily life, struggles, lacks. Everything has its time and place and what we seek, arrives. Thanks life!
Llegó el barco y, con él, la vuelta a casa, al hogar, a la rutina de la cual corrimos para sumergirnos por veinte días en una anti rutina que se volvió rutina, agradable por demás, contemplando la alegría de mi madre al compartir con su familia margariteña, jugando dominó varias veces al día y vivenciando las adorables atenciones de mi primo y anfitrión. No puedo dejar de reconocer que fue una sabia decisión cruzar el mar, buscando paz, pues la encontré. Así como también fuerza para reanudar con más brío el fluir de la vida diaria, las luchas, las carencias. Todo tiene su tiempo y su lugar y lo que buscamos, llega. ¡Gracias, vida!

These are good photos, accompanying a sad, rather touching commentary.
What’s happening in Venezuela is unconscionable. The people marginalized and pushed to the brink… to desperation by a venal, self-interested, oppressive regime… It’s all just so unnecessarily inhumane.

Aún a pesar de todo las cosas se resisten a sucumbir en la desidia y el abandono. Luchando para que la mediocridad no se lo coma todo. Que lindas imágenes de esa soñada isla. Que privilegio visitarla y llenarse los ojos de su increíble belleza.
