RE: ULOG #13: Not Everyone Truly Lives
The old adage "You can not choose what happens in life, but you can choose how you respond to it" rings a bit true in this situation. A lot of times we miss out on the blessing simply because we are not looking for it or choosing to celebrate it.
But I also believe that we have the ability to make more changes than we give ourselves credit for. The problem for most of us is that those changes often require some type of sacrifice.
- A more laidback lifestyle may require us to quit a nice paying (but stressful) job.
- Having financial freedom requires us to get out of debt which requires cutting back on discretionary spending (sorry Starbucks)
- Finding that dream job may mean bucking the 4-year school system and all of the people who have ever been educated by it.
Your post is well written and on point. My only question is "Are people ready to make the sacrifice?"
You brought up an awesome point in your comment! We do have the ability to make so many changes and decisions in our lives and so many more than we think we can. Choosing to live a lifestyle that is different than "the norm" can be challenging but we all have the right to make decisions for ourselves without needing to feel bad about it. Many people are not willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to pursue their dreams but I hope that anyone wanting to make the leap will choose to at least consider the possibilities. Thanks so much for the comment!
