ULOG #1: Cooking Carang Gesang Traditional Food From Indonesia
I found this healthy food when my coworkers brought their own cooked breakfast. My friend is from Central Java, Indonesia. The traditional food he brought while working was Carang Gesing. taste? amazingly delicious and healthy. since young mothers do have to prepare food for the family, so a heavy breakfast is needed.
Carang Gesing is from a Solo area in Central Java Province, Indonesia. Foods that are very easy to make and have good calorie standards for morning consumption.
Ingredients that must be prepared,
Bananas, I use two long horned bananas,
Two eggs,
Six tablespoons of white sugar (not too sweet),
Less than one teaspoon of salt,
Coconut milk (I use instant coconut milk but may squeezed coconut milk from native coconut),
Pandan leaves, and
Banana leaves
Because I don't have a tree and don't buy in the market to replace aluminum foil. We need to know, banana leaves make food more fragrant but because this is rarely around the house, substitute can be aluminum foil or an instant aluminum foil bowl.
How to make:
Prepare a medium size container 30cm in diameter. Input all ingredients except pandan leaves and bananas that must be cut into pieces. The banana is cut about 0.5cm like a photo. Mix and stir all ingredients to blend. Prepare 30*30cm aluminum foil on top of a bowl. Make aluminum foil follow the shape of the bowl so that the ingredients that have been stirred evenly look comfortable. Make the dough not leak out of aluminum foil because of the liquid structure. Neatly cover the entire aluminum foil, then put it in the steamer. Wait until 15-20 minutes then lift.
Very easy isn't it? this is why I immediately practice this dish every time breakfast and every time I harvest a banana.
